Also woefully underprepared if things have gone awry as he was planning on staying on at his school and they have never had to turn anyone away for not meeting grades so now worried we’ve been lulled into a false sense of security

BeasKnee · 20/08/2026 08:33

DD is apparently opening at school but then coming home to tell us. She might have them now. Argh, I wish she'd let me go along too like some of you have been allowed! I'm worried she might go off with friends and it will be ages before we know!

Ursulla42 · 20/08/2026 08:40

Hats off to those collecting without parents. It shows a certain independence that will put them in good stead for their future. The waiting is tough for us though!

NotDarkGothicMama · 20/08/2026 08:40

DH just messaged me. DS is awake and has worked out his results based on the grade boundaries and what he thinks his marks are, so reckons he doesn't need to collect them after all 🤦‍♀️ DH says he's been very generous with his self-marking and is now setting the cats on him to get him out of bed and into the shower.

Tebheag · 20/08/2026 08:48

One very happy DD

NotDarkGothicMama · 20/08/2026 08:49

Fantastic, well done her!

tourdefrance · 20/08/2026 08:51

School opens at 10 here so quite a wait. I was awake from 6am obviously. DS was upset about 'never seeing his high school friends again' late last night. Hopefully he sees lots today at least.

HaveYourPetSpayedOrNeutered · 20/08/2026 08:55

DS is currently dawdling - he needs to have some breakfast then open his bloody emails 😭.

I know he’s a bit anxious about English.

ItsPickleRick · 20/08/2026 08:55

One very happy DS and proud mum!

All papers were foundation papers and he got all 5’s with two 4’s (English Lit and Physics).

He did next to no revision so to say I’m relieved is an understatement. He got what he needs and is off to college in September!

That's amazing! Well done. We are hoping for similar for most subjects too 🤞

Callmejudith · 20/08/2026 09:05

Sitting outside school in the car - DS has gone in eeeeekkkk

Fantastic 🤩… these are the results my ds is hoping for too.

We’re currently driving across France so waiting for results to come through via text/email. DS is being very vague about how he received them. I’m worried he won’t receive them at all !

tukatuka · 20/08/2026 09:10

Im on pins! DS went in just after 8 and said he’s send me a photo before he headed home. No bloody photo! I can see he’s on his way back now. I have been umming ang ahing about whether to call him but I lm going to leave him to do it his way. I’m hoping he was celebrating with his friends plus making the most of the last time they’ll ever be around school altogether. But I just bloody want to know now!!! He’s a 5 student so as long as he gets that he’s grand for his next steps.

Brilliant!!

Anonymousemouses · 20/08/2026 09:14

DD's went on the school app at 9am. She wanted to open them at home before going in to school to get the envelope (the school is open from 9.15 - 11am), as she felt she wanted to process the results alone, and not have other girls tears of despair/screams of joy, rubbing off on her.

She went upstairs half an hour ago to look at her results, has not come down to tell us, I am scared.

LattePatty · 20/08/2026 09:17

Huge congratulations to those who have results already! So lovely to see these updates.

Son set off at 9.00 and may have the envelope in his hands as I type. He should do well based on mocks and predicted grades but he’s put a lot of pressure on himself and was very nervous when he left.

good luck to all the young people! And also to @NotDarkGothicMamaon that train!

LattePatty · 20/08/2026 09:17

Oh wow @Anonymousemousesthat would make me nervous too. A gentle knock maybe?

Tebheag · 20/08/2026 09:18

For people who asked about parents being there. I stsyed down the road in the csr but lots of patents walked into school or stood outside the school entrance

Countrystroll · 20/08/2026 09:18

Dd has got the 48 points over best 8 subjects required to stay at her sixth form. She is absolutely over the moon. It was always going to be very close, so very relieved.

Littletreefrog · 20/08/2026 09:20

Well done everyone 👍

Just had a very crackly phone call from DS something about a free sausage roll and he got what he needed. I won't celebrate until I see the actual results as I'm not convinced DS actually remembers what he needs for his course!

Beachforever · 20/08/2026 09:23

DD is delighted. She opened up the portal and started screaming and I had no idea if it was a good scream or a bad scream! My heart was in my mouth. Thankfully a good one!

Dont know what to do with myself now!

Garble · 20/08/2026 09:23

DS has been in school for 23 minutes (not that I’m counting) and yet to emerge. So hard not to read into everything!

Thank you if that was for my DD.
Did you make it on it time ? Sorry if posted

Yes, I got an Uber from the station and hauled DS out of bed. We're just arriving at school now.

Congratulations everyone so far!
