Our results can be picked up from 8.30, I've no idea if they release them online before??? DD hasn't mentioned it and I can't see anything on the portal school use so I'm guessing not?

Also no idea if it is protocol for parents to go in, DD asked if I could go with her, she doesn't want to open them with anyone else.

We will be there for the doors opening as she has a consultation appointment at 9.30 with her first choice college so will need to be in and out

I hope @NotDarkGothicMama is busy running across the airport and makes it on time

Ive stayed up with a stressed out DD debating whether she should do maths A level til about 1am, cat was sick at 4am and i then woke up at 6am thanks to the perimenopause... 🙄
I'm about to wake her up and go.

Parents of higher achievers - please remember all 7s are not a 'disaster' if you were hoping for 8s.

In general the terms 'did better than expected' 'did as expected' and 'a bit lower than hoped but enough for next steps' (even if those steps have had to change) are friendly inclusive terms to use.

I will be gloriously happy if DD gets a raft of 7's. Fingers crossed that everyone is happy with what they have achieved

I hate phone dawdlers with a passion. How do they manage to take up an entire travelator, meandering along. Get. Out. Of. The. Way. But... plane to platform in less than 25 minutes. I'm going to make the 7.36!

This time last year my DD2 passed her first and only GCSE, maths. If i need to think of something happy, I think of that.

@NotDarkGothicMama there ris nothing slower than slow people when you are in a rush. Fingers crossed for the train.

DS1 works early mornings so said he would blow up DS2s helium balloons ready for when he woke up. (We are doing balloons and the few bits and bobs I got him before results as they are not result dependent). Anyway he did, then left them in the garage where they floated next to the fluorescent tube and somehow that has meant both the balloons and the fluorescent tube have exploded!

The natural history museum tour worked and DD was sound asleep by 11:30pm! We did spend about an hour with a few tears before though….absolutely denied it was anything to do with pending results 🙄 but mums know don’t they, again just like when they are 3 years old and are crying before bed but absolutely not because they are tired from a day in London 😉

DD is up and in fairly good spirits so far.

Leaving about 08:20 for Starbucks on the way to school.

Oh no hope its not too much mess that was sweet of DS1 to do though shame about the outcome.

DD is finally up, she's not used to early mornings after the long summer. Seems in ok spirits. I'm a bit nervous though! As long as she gets what she wants for her next steps I'll be happy. We already know some won't be as good as mocks (unless she some how didn't accidentally miss at least a whole page in one exam like she is pretty sure she did!) but hopefully that shouldn't have dragged her down below the mark she needs to continue that subject at college. It's English I am nervous about as a resit wouldn't be great and would mess up all her plans.

Sat in the car while DS goes in to get them. He saw his friend and went in with her but will be bringing them out as he wants to go open them with his dad. I am so nervous

Its absolutely chucking it down with rain and they have to collect and exit straight into the garden!

DD has left… now I wait. She’s not necessarily going to tell me straight away so I’m hoping I can stay calm until she does.

Hahaha my DS would definitely do that if I let him collect them by himself. He threw his nock results in the bin on the way home so I interrogated his teachers at DD's parents evening that night. There is no escape.
