All okish here . 6 needed in Maths is a 5 so we need to negotiate on all his options .. but everything else is better than hoped - everything between 8 and 4 .

good luck to those still waiting and well done to all who have there results . GCSEs these days are much more stressful dare I say harder than my day and every single one of them has my respect for showing up and doing their best

DD got virtually a predicted, she’s super happy. I’m just glad she got a 6 in English as she made some classic not reading the question mistakes on both papers. Phew!

For anyone with experience of these things, is it worth getting a re-mark in Physics or German? She was 1 point off a 9 in both of these. It won’t make any difference, and I don’t want the grades to go down, but she was so close!!

Son got 3 ‘9’s, 6 ‘8’s and 2 distinctions (non gcse level 2 qualifications).

He did absolutely brilliantly. He is happy but I think a bit disappointed he didn’t get 9s in 2 of his A level choices (history and English lit). I have told him the difference between an 8 and a 9 is minimal.

I am very proud. He is lucky to have the academic talent but he has worked hard and that’s what I’m most proud of.

I waited in the car whilst she went in to get her results. She came running out waving the envelope shouting "Mum, mum I got a 7!" She was predicted 4 and 5 for everything. 6th form for her now, and off to tell the local college she won't be joining them for T Levels which was her plan B. She was 1 mark off an 8 for English Language so school are going to see if it's worth re-submitting.

There have been lots of tears of joy and relief today. I feel like we've been holding our breath for months. Good luck to all those still waiting for a call/message. 💐

Have been fighting with the online results portal all morning.

dd came out with four 9s, an 8 (dreaded chemistry), two 7s, and a 6.

All good for her A levels & I can’t begin to describe the relief. She hasn’t been in school and did them in a year as an external candidate.

DS sanguine as usual but I’m ecstatic - he’s got 7x 8s, 2x 7s and 1x 6. Feels like a miracle given his attitude to work in the lead up to exams - genuinely no idea how he pulled it off as he did similar for mocks and got 4/5/6s

A happy house here. Everything between an 8 and 3. Some better and some worse than hoped for but overall amazing and a relief.

Delighted here, 6 in English Lang and Lit and 9 in everything else. Would that be ok for medicine, or will English be a problem?

DS is dyslexic and with no extra time allowed in the exam, he has got a 7 in English language and 6 in English Literature. He is over the moon.

Very happy DD here. She got her much wanted 9 in Maths, an 8 in History and then a bunch of 7s and 6s with one 5 (in a subject she thought she might fail so she’s happy there too).

All good 2 x 8s rest 7s and 6s and 4 in Spanish . Interviewed on camera by bbc which was the most exciting! Thanks to all for the support and sharing your journey on this chapter.

But already worrying whether he will be able to make the leap to A level with no 7s. There must be others who do it though?

This is very similar to DD. I can't help but wonder what they would have been if she had extra time as she didn't finish either exam. Amazing results though anyway

Relief here too - DS1 got 7 C’s or better - one more than he needed including English Lang (I was so worried about this one). Beat his expected grades by 1 :).
Still no idea how he is supposed to enrol in sixth form though. Hoping it’s automatic (for those with offers that have met them) and they just see who turns up in a couple of weeks - seems a bit chaotic though!
Well done to everyone else too, including @NotDarkGothicMama . Couldn’t face the thread this morning but was also rooting for you! Also whoever was trying to get results on the way to a sporting event - hope you didn’t crash with the stress and it all got uploaded.
Given up on reactions to posts - I do not speak emoji- how clapping apparently means thanks rather than well done I have no idea…..But well done to all those with good results and good luck to those disappointed and sorting out their options.

DD is happy about her results, so that's good. She got her predicted grades for about half of the subjects and 1 grade down for the other half. A mix of 6-9.

I have to admit being a bit deflated about getting lower than her predictions as she has always worked hard. Can't share that in real life of course and am trying to do the opposite of my own parents reactions to my results!!

Has helped a bit with A level choices but still a big question mark over those.

Can you share what subjects? If it is MFL or maths or science then it’s more of an issue IMHO.

All good here too and he has enough for a levels!

English Lang 8 but Lit 5 which was a bit of a surprise.
5 in Maths which he's absolutely over the moon about
8 in History and RE
DT 4 which is absolutely no surprise
Everything else 6

Dd had similar - 9 in English language but a 6 in literature. We were both a bit surprised.

DS did brilliantly. He got the 8 he needed in maths and everything else was a 7 or 8, except for a 6 in English Language. Happily, this means I don't owe him any money 😁 Optimal result! I think he's a bit disappointed at the lack of 9s, but otherwise very pleased. His friends all got what they needed too so happy all round.

We're off to take advantage of Pizza Express' bottomless pizza offer (he declined Nandos with his friends cos he likes pizza better!) and then I'm heading to bed. I got home after picking up results and my body suddenly crashed. Many zzz needed. Then packing again for my next work trip tomorrow.

Oh so we have a dilemma here. Dd1 got 6/7 in science. Her preferred college wanted 7/7 and her alternative wanted 6/6. She got her highest marks in the science she wants to take.

Enrolment day for college 2 is tomorrow and college 1 on Monday.

she has called and emailed college 1 and is now stressing. She may have to do an entrance exam but then if she fails that she could have no place!

nothing the matter with college 2 btw but not her preference

Enrol at 2.
Then see if 1 will take her.
It isn't joined up like ucas.

Considering he was predicted 5s and 6s and was suicidal in May and had his autism assessment in the middle of the exams I couldn't be more proud of him although I was proud of him for just sitting th exams so all of this is just the cherry on the cake.

I hope everyone else is having good news, well done to those that have achieved their goals and hugs to those who may be disappointed.

My DS did amazing and got all 8s and 9s. But he seems a bit disappointed in a few of his 8s as he had got 9s in those subjects in his mocks.

DS did very well. He couldn’t write at year 2, failed his phonics tests throughout primary, was below expected at end of primary. And now has all 8s and 9s. He’s so resilient and just keeps on trying!
