Anyone knows when the SET result for Sutton schools will be out. Many children said exam was easy. I wonder how many will get through the first round and how hard will be the second stage

We have received our daughter's result. Good luck to everyone!

Girls’ results are out. We are through for both girls schools.

Am I right in thinking if you’re OOC getting in is still a long shot?

Yes very much so, unless we score in the top 20% it’s not going to get us in

Exyuki · 16/10/2025 21:08

I’m a bit confused. I understand there are only 85 places for out-of-catchment (OOC) candidates. So if some of the top 85 girls live within the catchment area, does that mean there will actually be fewer than 85 places available for OOC applicants in the end?
Can anyone help to explain?

85 places go to the highest scoring girls - inside and outside of catchment. So if you are ooc then your daughter needs to place in the top 85

Yes. The places for the top 85 places are for the top 85 regardless of where they live. Those top 85 will go to girls in catchment as well as out of catchment.

So for example if the top 85 places are made up of 40 places OOC and 45 places IC only 40 girls from OOC will get a place. The rest of the places all go to girls in catchment.

BrazenButterfly · 16/10/2025 23:37

Isn’t a long shot for everyone even if in catchment? In that around 1000 girls will have passed and there are only 400 places? Having to manage my daughter’s expectation of what today’s results means

Yeah don’t get trapped into reading too much of girls result. It means nothing as they pass more than 1k for 400 seats. Always have a backup plan. Last year lot of these girls ended up with disappointment on national offer day

FitnessIsTheOnlyWealth · 17/10/2025 09:46

It’s so unfair that they don’t give us the score anymore to help manage expectations

It could be blessing in disguise. People who have similar option close to thier house or people who have confirmed places elsewhere won’t list sutton schools as top priority. And that could well play into the hands of people who really want sutton schools
