Anyone knows when the SET result for Sutton schools will be out. Many children said exam was easy. I wonder how many will get through the first round and how hard will be the second stage

Ours (girls) is through. Thank goodness it was good news.

Yoyoflow · 23/09/2025 20:24

We got our results: DD met the requirements for the first stage of the Sutton SET.

She came close for HBS, scoring 342.25, while the cut-off for the first 300 was 345.05. Her weakest area in the HBS test was non-verbal reasoning.

Sorry. What is this for? I live in the borough but my SEN grandchildren do not yet but will be moving here soon

This is the first stage result for the Sutton grammar schools 11plus exam x

Susanforarthur · 23/09/2025 21:09

still no results for boys?

Dontknowmuchanymore · 23/09/2025 21:17

Ours had the heading GWH so perhaps it’s being sent per session, per school??

Kaviya · 23/09/2025 21:19

We are pleased to inform you that X has achieved a score in the Selective Eligibility that enables her to be considered for one of the 60 selective places available at Greenshaw High School.

What is that mean ?

Anyone got same thing ?

Kaviya · 23/09/2025 21:20

Still do the 2nd stage?

Oh is that the school you applied via? We applied via Wilson's site so wonder if that's relevant?

I think it’s the school where your child sat the exam.

Have you got your son’s result yet? I haven’t received and it’s 9.30. We applied on Sutton grammar website.

Daddykl · 23/09/2025 21:35

Still nothing for the boys

Are we all staying up for the boys results! ?

penguinumbrella · 23/09/2025 21:42

Got ours and it's not a pass. 195 with 210 being the cut off for Wilson's. Anyone know if it should be an even split for the results (IE 105 per test?) to get to the 210?

Sillysallysausage · 23/09/2025 21:43

I just got boys results now. Didn't make it unfortunately. Scored 199.55. needed 210 for Wilson's. Bit disappointed but not devastated
So boys results are on their way

Did you apply via Wilson’s website for SET?

Susanforarthur · 23/09/2025 21:48

My son passed! Such a relief!

Daddykl · 23/09/2025 21:58

👍

Yes. He got:
English standardised score: 89.35
Maths standardised score: 106.24
Total score: 195.59

Suggest to me he didn't do well in English? But no idea!

It means you are able to apply for one of the 60 selective places at Greenshaw High School.

Roughly based on prior years, but can't remember 100%

Above 210-212 - Invited for second round
200-210 - Pass for Greenshaw selective places

Kaviya · 23/09/2025 22:14

@Sportie7 thank you so much 😊

You can apply for Greenshaw in your CAF but you are not guaranteed a seat. Based on how others who have passed SET place other schools and Greenshaw will determine who bags those 60 seats.

Many moons ago my older DD got WL at the girls’ grammars and Greenshaw. She eventually got a grammar place but never got Greenshaw! It was a mystery how the WL moved in such a way.

Thank you, that's helpful and tracks with his overall abilities!

Dandady · 24/09/2025 16:11

Hi there.

I’ve been looking into the admissions data for Greenshaw High School’s 60 ability places over the past few years. From what I could find, the lowest scores for offers were generally in the range of 209 to 211.

Interestingly, this range seems quite close to the cut-off scores usually required in the SET Stage 1 for progressing to Stage 2. Therefore, would it be fair to say that if a child meets the Stage 2 eligibility standard, they also stand a good chance (probabilistically speaking, acknowledging that it varies year by year) of being in contention for one of Greenshaw’s 60 places?

Also, would anyone be able to share what the minimum total score for stage 1 was this year (for girls’ grammar schools), and what the individual cut-off marks for English and Maths were?

Many thanks in advance! 🙏
