Anyone knows when the SET result for Sutton schools will be out. Many children said exam was easy. I wonder how many will get through the first round and how hard will be the second stage

Hi there.

I’ve been looking into the admissions data for Greenshaw High School’s 60 ability places over the past few years. From what I could find, the lowest scores for offers were generally in the range of 209 to 211.

Interestingly, this range seems quite close to the cut-off scores usually required in the SET Stage 1 for progressing to Stage 2. Therefore, would it be fair to say that if a child meets the Stage 2 eligibility standard, they also stand a good chance (probabilistically speaking, acknowledging that it varies year by year) of being in contention for one of Greenshaw’s 60 places?

Also, would anyone be able to share what the minimum total score for stage 1 was this year (for girls’ grammar schools), and what the individual cut-off marks for English and Maths were?

The cutoff scores for the last couple of years have been boys - 210 and girls - 206. They do not differentiate between English and Maths and do not disclose marks(which would vary year on year) only combined standardised score.

My son is taking the stage 2 exams next Sat 4 Oct. Based on last year’s timeline, I assume the results will be out on 16 Oct Thursday.

I don’t think it can be discussed yet as there may be late sitters. In any case it’s finally done and onto the next!

Mine wrote 1 2/3 page today. I think anywhere between 1 1/4 to 2 is acceptable.

Does anyone know when the emails goes out for time for 2nd set(boys)? We had email to attend the 2nd set but havent recieved any information on what time or where it will be held.
