SW London Private and Grammar Schools Waiting Lists (Y7 2023 entry)

Following the private and grammar school exam threads, I am starting this one for those with waiting list places. May be helpful to hear if and when waiting lists begin to move.

We had some offers and some WL places. We have released the offers we are not taking and waiting for a place on the Reeds WL.

Hoping for movement after offer holder days (next week), national schools offer day (1st March) and offer acceptance dates (circa 9/10th March).

It doesn’t sound like any wait lists are moving yet. I think it will all happen next week!

Any news about G&L waitlist?

Looking on the other thread, a lot of places are being released now after Offer Holder events at preferred schools, so hopefully that will start to flow through next week to those on WL?

Did the school just broadcast an email this morning that there was no news on the WL?

In addition to the ones already released, we will be releasing KGS, Emanuel and IPS this weekend.

Keep your hopes up. I’ve had 3 DC go through the process. My last got in on WL.
There has never been a year when WL have not moved.
My first DC is in first year in university now. It is nerve wracking, but suddenly there will be movement in various schools.

I released GL this morning hopefully someone gets a good news soon.

Am i wrong in thinking that G&L has put a huge number of girls in its unranked waitlist? Compared to that, I hear about fewer girls being placed on WL in other girls school in SW London.

I think that both WHS and PHS have quite big lists. WHS is willing to tell people in which third of the lost they are ... PHS isn't.

Sounds like fhss has a long, unranked, waitlist too

I believe Wednesday afternoon is when state and grammar school results come out. Many deadlines are around 6th/7th March. I think next 2 weeks is when the maximum movement will happen. If someone hears from any school regarding waitlists, please do let us know on this forum.

We’re waiting on what feels like a long-shot LU reserve list place. We have an offer for another school that we would be very happy to accept, but LU is significantly closer to us. We’re anticipating a high uptake of LU offers and IF there is waiting list movement, it happening late on. So tired of being on tenterhooks but grateful to have what we have. Just want it to be over now!

Thanks @MyCraft glad to see some movement. I wonder if this is for FHSS also.

Any updates on the SPGS wait list? We were told to not contact them before middle of this week (which is today), the wait is nerve wracking!

Grammar school offers out at 5pm today only so would not expect movement before tomorrow at the earliest. I think last year some SPGS WL movement happened very last minute, around noon 6 March and then some more after.

When is the offer acceptance deadline for SPGS? And do they reveal your position on the waitlist? Today evening grammar school results come out and I imagine that parents won’t be releasing indie offers before end of this week or the actual deadline. That day plus 1 working day is when they should start contacting parents. I think when SPGS list moves, a lot of independent schools list will also move as a result of that.

Fingers crossed SPGS can update on the WL!! As we're having to respond to offer at NLCS by noon 6th March...

We have had an offer today! Was expecting nothing would happen until after Tiffin offers are out this evening, at the earliest.
