SW London Private and Grammar Schools Waiting Lists (Y7 2023 entry)

Following the private and grammar school exam threads, I am starting this one for those with waiting list places. May be helpful to hear if and when waiting lists begin to move.

We had some offers and some WL places. We have released the offers we are not taking and waiting for a place on the Reeds WL.

Hoping for movement after offer holder days (next week), national schools offer day (1st March) and offer acceptance dates (circa 9/10th March).

@user1494050295 which sHS? If it is Sutton high, that would be my DD’s year, and it is full, so will be just in case anyone drops out

Ty. No I meant Surbiton High School

Surbiton will be full too I imagine @user1494050295 so they will wait to see if anyone leaves at the start of the year. Most people will have told them by now.

@user1494050295 , the current year 7 at Surbiton high is the enormous year from when they over offered in Feb 22.
It's in your favour as there is more movement in a large cohort but be aware of the size of the year group.

Ty. Also meant to say year 9

@user1494050295 , if you are looking for Year 9 in Sept you might have a small chance if a parent has a relocation via a job or a family can no longer meet the fees but you are dependent on someone else pulling out. The girls in current year 8 who are moving schools (which is not that uncommon esp as some of them have been at Surbiton high since they were 4 yrs old and year 9 is another natural break point) will have already got their new school places lined up for Sept but you can get a tiny bit of movement after half term. Best of luck.

Thanks Red. My daughter is on the waiting list. They currently have four spaces. There were about 35 girls who took the exam. Don’t know how many were interviewed. The school won’t confirm where on the list my daughter is. A waiting game.

Anyone have any news? Things seem to have ground to a complete halt
