thanks all :) For info and those interested, the email mentioned more than 1400 candidates, 440 interviewed and 160 places.

Daydreamscometrue · 15/12/2022 16:59

DS has an interview at LU!

sesiotrot · 15/12/2022 17:05

congrats!

Lolakath19 · 15/12/2022 17:07

well done @Daydreamscometrue

SamPoodle123 · 15/12/2022 17:13

Congratulations to those who made it to second round for LU!

@Lolakath19 thanks for that info. Interesting to know how many candidates made it to the next round. I wish we had applied! We do not hear from any schools until after the first week of Jan! Such a long wait.

FriendlyMom · 15/12/2022 17:13

Just posted on the previous threat regarding the LU email :) We are also up for an interview on the 10th. Really interesting that they post the numbers, especially given our discussion and speculations about schools' numbers in general! It is really transparent of them.

On the topic of interviews - CLSG's interview date is January 18 which coincidentally is Putney High's Athena's assessment. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Lolakath19 · 15/12/2022 17:16

@FriendlyMom our CLSG interview date clashes with FHSS interview.. CLSG say in the email they wont change it, so I guess you have to find an alternative with the other school..

Same mention in the email, @Lolakath19 - inflexible in terms of change on their end. Both schools, FHSS and CLSG interview all girls who sit the exam (2 stage in the case of City).

SamPoodle123 · 15/12/2022 17:34

I assume one of the schools will give an alternative date. I am told by Putney, the schools usually discuss these things so they all do not pick the same dates. I guess they can not discuss w all schools!

Daydreamscometrue · 15/12/2022 17:35

@Lolakath19 thanks and you

11plusdoneanddusted · 15/12/2022 17:39

Does the LU info say that the 160 places includes the 40 or so coming up from the Prep?

DD got LU interview too - delighted for her as she really wants to go there!

We were wondering if the 440 to be interviewed for 160 places included the Latymer prep school kids. Anyone have any thoughts?

@11plusdoneanddusted

I posted exactly the same question before reading yours!

secondaryquandries · 15/12/2022 17:42

Congrats on the LU interviews! The numbers sound like pretty good odds as I'm assuming they must have to over offer significantly. Grin

11plusdoneanddusted · 15/12/2022 17:43

There will be about 160 in total in the year so assuming most move up there will be about 120 external places.

QuiteAJourney · 15/12/2022 17:43

@Daydreamscometrue Many congratulations, your DS is doing so well!

@FriendlyMom Congratulations! I am pretty sure that they can schedule to accommodate - I know people that have been given alternative interview / group assessment slots on account of clashes. Maybe worth phoning them to flag up / know the range of slots that they will have available.

The website reads
How many children in a year group?
Year 7 typically has 168 children, 44 usually move up from Year 6
in Latymer Prep and approx 125
join from primary and prep schools with a fairly even split of private and state schools.

11plusdoneanddusted · 15/12/2022 17:50

DS at LU- I'm interested in the thread because relatives not on mumsnet has applied! I remember them being pretty transparent with numbers when we applied.

LondonMum20222 · 15/12/2022 17:57

Congrats to all those with LU interviews. Getting into the final 440 from 1400 is no mean feat. They should all feel v proud of themselves. 💪

Firenze12 · 15/12/2022 18:00

Wow 1400!! Congrats to all those with interviews. A great achievement.
Thanks for the advice re the scholarship, not obvious from website/ communication. We will see!

Dallasdays · 15/12/2022 18:15

Congrats to everyone through to LU! We didn't look at the school in the end but it sounds great. Based on the numbers quoted it sounds like those who have an interview will have a good chance of a place Smile

seems like CLSG candidates have interview slots across 2 weeks! And it is not possible to change the slots. Not sure how can they make sure this is a fair process as the DDs got later slot might have slight advantage?

Westbournemum · 15/12/2022 18:27

Interesting that LU have turned around marking 1400 maths and English papers, collating data and communicating results in a 8 days. The schools using Atom which gives instantaneous results, on the other hand, don’t get back to you until January!
