@Lolakath19 @SamPoodle123 Purely out of nosy curiosity (in prep for DD sitting next year) do they say what kind of interview it is eg group or individual, or how long it will last?

Congratulations to everyone with Godolphin interviews - wonderful news and such a great achievement.
Still waiting on Putney - finding it hard to get anything done.

I wish you and your DC well but it is important to remember there is a “better way to handle it all” - you send your DC to the local state school like 93% of the UK population. Good luck to you all but I think you need to own that this is a choice you have consciously made for your children.

@Lolakath19 Thank-you! Much better than a group interview. I always thought it was weird sending girls in with others from their school. What if they don't like those girls? And what about the girls who are the only ones applying from their school? I think individual interviews are a much fairer playing field. Good luck to your DD!

What a sanctimonious comment! Very well aware of what we are 'owning' thank you very much; doesn't mean that we can't empathise with the children who are showing resilience and fortitude in what appears to be a more gruelling than usual selection process. And sometimes its not as simple as 'sending your DC to the local state school'.

Ah, we are 2:30pm. Do you think it means anything the interview time!?

Congratulations to all who made it to the next round. My heart was pounding when I saw the email. Now just waiting for putney, but just feeling relief that she made it to next round for Godolphin. I do not have any experience in the 11+ and all the private school parents I spoke to scared me with how competitive it all is. My dd is in a state school so she is removed from it all and does not feel any pressure (it is only me stressing). In her year only one other dc is applying to the same schools, whom she does not really talk to. So feels like no one is doing it at her school.

Does anyone know how many make it to the interview round at Godolphin and how many spots? The wait after the interview will be so nerve wracking.

@Lolakath19 I don't think the time has any correlation to the results. It is more an alphabetical order or school grouping probably.

The Putney email is out and it is what I feared - it clashes with the CLGS interview as it is in the afternoon! There is no way DD can be in two places at the same time and CLSG already stated the timing cannot be changed.

Does anyone know whether Putney's assessment is in the morning as well as the afternoon? Some of the other schools split the candidates in morning and afternoon groups.

Putney emails are out. Could anyone shed any light on what the Athena assessment entails?

We are in the same boat.

@Workhar Although it may sound irrational, but I fear that to whichever of the two schools we choose to write we risk being negatively viewed... It should not come to that - the process is stressful as it is, with the added stress of parents writing to move things around to avoid clashes...

No email yet from putney...for us.

@FriendlyMom i fear that too. But we don’t have a choice! If any independent school was able to guarantee us an admission, we would not be running around like headless chicken. Plus like they are choosing us, we are also choosing them. I can only hope that they will not harbor negative feelings towards an innocent child who also applied to a few more schools.

Congratulations to your girls (and you!) on all the G&L interviews. I'm afraid I don't know how many they interview, but there are about 110 in a year (5 form classes). It is a fantastic school - academically and pastorally.

I think when people talk about groups from different schools being called to interview, they don't mean girls were actually interviewed in these groups, but that applicants from certain schools or 'centre groups' tend to get the same time slot. But they are all interviewed separately! When DD went (just pre-Covid) there were 4 or 5 other girls from her school and all were offered places.

I think they had 2 interviews, each with a different teacher. The first was a kind of general chat about favourite subjects etc. They did ask what other schools they were going for and they asked DD if she had an interview at SPGS (which I remember thinking was s bit odd). Then the second interview was about some pictures (but they all had a different set of pictures).

Many of the girls offered places at G&L had also sat for FHSS and were offered scholarships there. It said in the FHSS offer letters that they were among the highest performers in the Consortium. So well done to your DDs today!

my husband also didn’t receive any email. Only I received it. Earlier, only my husband was receiving emails from them and I received their emails 12-14 hours later.

Nothing from Putney for us - so stressed now

I wonder why such a delay in emails. Ah well. I am glad at least we have one positive one. And I am not expecting anything from Putney. But just want to know lol.
