Hello everyone, here is a shiny new thread ready for DC’s results day tomorrow and a much needed hand hold for us nervous parents. 🥴🤪

Tomorrow is the culmination of an incredibly turbulent 2 year journey that our young people have had to navigate. Fraught with ups and downs. They have done us all proud!!

Got the results - a Distinction in BTEC and all 7s. She's so happy and hugely relieved!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/08/2022 08:50

I do so feel for everyone going through this!

So thankful to be long past dds’ GCSEs, As, finals.

CornishGem1975 · 25/08/2022 08:50

Oh I lie, she got an 8 in Media.

Rollergirl11 · 25/08/2022 08:51

@MirandaWest they are still stellar results! But I know how you feel as DD will be exactly the same if she doesn’t get what she wants or a friend does better. Heavens forbid if she doesn’t get a 9 in English lit as that is her passion and what she wants to do for uni.

I'm waiting for DD to dry her hair so we can set off for school.

I've been swimming this morning to keep my mind off it.

Congratulations to all the kids getting their results this morning.

Rollergirl11 · 25/08/2022 08:52

Fab results @Graff and @CornishGem1975 !!!

Kids are great huh? My DDs friend thought it was Monday they were getting their results!

mrshoho · 25/08/2022 09:00

I was surprised that we've had absolutely zero communication from DS's school regarding arrangements for collecting results. DS on groupchat has said from 9.30 and parents are also welcome so we'll go then. I get the impression the school is glad to see the back of this year group for various reasons!

finished31 · 25/08/2022 09:01

I curious why some schools are able to email yet other insist on children going into collect.

DD's operates a collect on surname time basis which means we can't collect until 11:30 🤯

springisaroundthecorner · 25/08/2022 09:03

What time do they appear on student email as DS can't collect in-person? School website just says "later this morning"

MumofSpud · 25/08/2022 09:03

All passed - I am so relieved - I took a video of her opening the email but I was shaking so much!

TattiePants · 25/08/2022 09:07

Just looking at the grade boundaries for Eng Lit on AQQ. There are 3 options NM, PM & PN but I don’t know what they stand for - DS didn’t do poetry anthology. Any English teachers know?

Not a teacher but DS did NM and he didn’t do the poetry anthology

Butterfly44 · 25/08/2022 09:09

Waiting for my daughter to get ready. I'm more nervous than she is Grin

TeenDivided · 25/08/2022 09:10

@TattiePants I'd imagine the P would stand for Poetry so you would need to look at NM? M for Modern maybe?

Purple24 · 25/08/2022 09:10

I found this from 2021

8702/NM – 19th century novel and the modern prose/drama
8702/PM – poetry anthology and the modern prose/drama
8702/PN – poetry anthology and the 19th century novel

Jayan77 · 25/08/2022 09:11

It will be option NM, as that’s what my son did too.

Threelittlelambs · 25/08/2022 09:12

SS reset his maths so that’s the only one we’re waiting for today - he’s so laid back I feel I’m nervous for him!

As a dyslexic child he struggled with English (set 5) and passed with a C last year - the teachers didn’t get the results so his teacher rang me to find out as she couldn’t wait.

Ahhh ….. roll on 10am

LouisCatorze · 25/08/2022 09:13

Congratulations to your DS @QueenMabby

I am certainly not expecting DD to get those stellar grades.

DD has only just set off, no taking an umbrella. She's going to get soaked.

Threelittlelambs · 25/08/2022 09:13

*DS not SS

legosunqueen · 25/08/2022 09:14

My gorgeous DS is through to 6th form with a stellar set of results

Business 8
Maths 7
Biology 7
Chemistry 6
Physics 5
French 4
Eng Lang 7
Eng lit 7
History 7

Amazed at the sciences, & he genuinely didn't expect to pass French. He'll be disappointed with Business & Maths but c'est la vie.

Let the Leeds Fest celebrations begin 😂😂

MyOtherProfile · 25/08/2022 09:14

All 7s and 8s. I can't believe it, I'm so relieved. He is disappointed not to get 9 in his chosen A level subjects but frankly who cares?

Kaftankween · 25/08/2022 09:24

3 9s (including unexpectedly physics) 3 8s, 3 7s. Very happy. Onto the sixth form.

See you in two years people, to do it all over again!

zighead · 25/08/2022 09:26

My DS has just texted me and he has eight grade 9 and two grade 8. I’m amazed he got an 8 in Spanish as he really didn’t like it. He will be disappointed with his 8 in drama though!
