Calling all parents who’s ds sat the 11+ today... ds said maths was super hard and not the usual questions, he said he couldn’t finish the paper. Wondering if it was the case for the majority or he just had a bad day...

We got an interview, but also a ‘we’re worried about his maths’ so a second interview for that... doesn’t sound too promising...

Ami01 a lot depends on the day. My friends son last year got no's for the first 3 schools (can you imagine!) and then got offered the last two. Nerve racking process to go through, but her DS is now thriving and happy at the school he ended up in and a similar school on paper than the one he first sat. Honestly there is no telling. Hold on in there

How should I tell ds? He had his heart set on Hamptons especially with all the sports facilities. He hadn’t been keen on any other school :( he also had a no from tiffins and Sutton grammer So I’m worried another no I’d really going to bring him down!

Surbitonlady did they say he was going to have a maths interview in the email? Didn't say anything on the one we had? Just a chance to get to know him better, chance to ask questions etc.

Mummy2aprince. You say it's obviously not the right school for him and he will find his perfect school. Which others has he sat?

@mummy2aprince09, so sorry to hear your news. Did your ds sit the Epsom College exam? That school has the most amazing sports facilities. Plus you are on the Reeds thread. Keep positive & let him know he did the best he could, I'm sure your Prep will guide you.

Those that are saying no did you actually get a no email? My friend is saying she hasn’t heard but I think she is expecting a letter.

Yes we got the no email! Ds has also sat Epsom, reeds, Latymer upper, St Albans, and merchant Taylors is tomorrow. reeds sadly has no football and Epsom feels like such a long day... I’m beginning to wonder it’s might be are only options :(

Mummy did you consider Whitgift or Trinity as they also have great sporting facilities.

My friends DS did not even get an interview for Hamptons, but got an offer for SPS and another highly ranked boys school in central London .

Still no news. DS is applying for music scholarship. I hope they are just arranging scholarship audition and reply to us late...Hmm
Has anyone got music scholarship audition invitation?

Hi lifeis: Yes they said the get to know you interview and because they were ‘concerned’ about his maths - he’s got to do a second maths interview.

We have applied for music scholarship too. Apparently they invite after the whole interview process.

Hi could someone please clarify if actual no letters have been sent for Hampton or people are just assuming no’s if they didn’t get interview letters. Also has anyone heard from RGS?

Sorry to hear from those with no’s so far. It is temporarily demoralising. But I do agree with a previous poster who said they all end up where they’re meant to be. Try to keep that faith.

We were lucky to get an invite to interview next week. A very nice surprise - it’s a tough exam.

@R272727 it’s an email (received ours at 6pm today) which either says yes or no to interview. If it helps, we are close to the start of the alphabet.

@Surbitonlady we too got a ‘concern about maths’ paragraph. Think DS left out a handful of q’s so I’m wondering if he was strong enough in what he did and they want to check?

As with what a previous poster said, I’m worried about the tough, competitive environment aswell but I’m hoping he gets the right offer/s from the right school/s in the end.

R272 no news for us. DS sat in Group 2. Our initial is first half of alphabet.

We haven't heard anything either.

(FWIW our surname is first half of the alphabet.) They had over 1000 boys sitting last week so it will probably take a while to get all the emails out.

I would imagine all staff have gone home now so they will probably continue with the emails tomorrow....
