Calling all parents who’s ds sat the 11+ today... ds said maths was super hard and not the usual questions, he said he couldn’t finish the paper. Wondering if it was the case for the majority or he just had a bad day...

I got told they send them out by school they currently go to!?! Not sure if that’s definitely true but the other boy from our school got the email at roughly the same time.
R272727 Ours just said interview, nothing about maths x

Anyone got a no in first half of the alphabet?

@Getoffmyunicorn that makes sense to send them out by school. They are going to talk tomorrow/the next day... so it's fair they all know one way or another?

Hi everyone! DS sat Hamptons 13+ (not 11+). Has anyone in the 13+ group heard anything yet about interviews? Thank you... So so nervous...

Report
Ds123 · 14/01/2020 21:45

No - we have not heard anything about the 13+ nor have others from our school who are very likely to get an interview.

Thank you for letting me know, DS123! So nerve wrecking...

Nothing for 13+ either yet.

I’ve just been told that you get asked for a subject interview if you miss out a question.

Does anyone know what the stats are for interview to offer?

Report
lifeisnotagame · 14/01/2020 22:40

surbitonlady I'm not sure that's right in all cases. My DS missed out a question and didn't get a subject interview. Maybe it depends on a combination of final mark and questions missed?

mummy2aprince focus on tomorrow. Don't let your DS sense any angst. You have a good spread of schools which is great . LU is notoriously hard and more competitive than even Hampton purely based on the number of children sitting - location and the fact it's co ed, so view that one as a bonus.

surbitonlady. I think it's half of boys who sat (have heard the range us 800-1000) get an interview, then offer half again with some on wait list

Report
lifeisnotagame · 14/01/2020 22:58

I think 800 for the 11+, maybe more including 13+ etc.

Hi R272727, I expect we will hear today late afternoon.

Probably they use computer system to send out those e-mails. If so, they are now working to input the result of the rest of children and send out at the

I think there is probably some system to how they send the emails out because they used to do it by school. Maybe they still do? From some preps, for instance, they have quite a few applying every year, so they tell them all together. They used to interview in school groups too, do this may well still be the case? When DS had an interview there some years ago, there was a whole group from our school, and about three other groups of 5/6 boys each, all from different preps. So don’t worry if you haven’t heard yet.
