11+ waiting for results

Mumoftwinsandanother · 13/09/2018 14:46

Hi there

My twins have both taken the 11+ in Bucks today. Results come out on 13th October, I think. It could really go either way for both of them. My biggest fear is that one gets in and the other does not (really quite possible).
Saw that last year there was a thread from parents during the waiting period and I wondered if anyone wanted to take part in a hand holding thread this year (for any county). Obviously have to be very careful what I say to DTs so would be useful to vent here.

Anyone else in similar position?

I couldn't wait.. we have a 336 pass in catchment so can pick our school 😬

Have told him and he is delighted.

Well done everyone else too!

PerspicaciaTick · 16/10/2018 08:09

Totallyliterally, well done to your DS too.

We're ic for KEGS so I think that would be favourite.

thereisnorinbath · 16/10/2018 08:23

Is the online link working for Essex yet, does anybody know? I can't get in...

Ouch44 · 16/10/2018 08:24

Facebook memories today showed me my DS got his results this day 2 years ago. Thanks! thats just going to make the waiting even harder!!

PerspicaciaTick · 16/10/2018 08:30

@thereisnorinbath yes the csse website is working.

thereisnorinbath · 16/10/2018 09:05

Buggered if I can find a 'print' button on the CSSE site to get the results! Can anybody tell me where it is please?!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 16/10/2018 09:16

Reading School results are out and DS2 didn't pass. I'm quite surprised, I must admit. He's really bright!

The good news is, he LOVES our local secondary school and wanted to go there anyway. So I guess it's a positive result for him. Still quite surprised, though.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 16/10/2018 09:21

How do we tell our kids their results (if they didn't pass) without crushing their tiny spirits?! He wanted to go to the comprehensive school, but I don't want him to feel like a failure.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 16/10/2018 09:29

@MrsTWH Hope you get good news!

PerspicaciaTick · 16/10/2018 09:45

@thereisnorinbath hopefully you've found it now. I think it is a big blue button in the top right hand corner of the screen once you've signed in.

MrsTWH · 16/10/2018 10:22

@WhatsGoingOnEh no, he didn’t pass. Ah well, what will be will be. Again I loved the Local comp and so did he, so I’m not too sad! I think I’m going to tell a white lie and say he passed but not by enough to get a place/apply... Is that bad?! It’s horrible to brand your ten year old a failure!

lozbee · 16/10/2018 10:42

My son failed Reading boys too :( quite badly I think although not sure what the average score is or highest for that matter. I hope your son doesnt take it too badly :(

PenguinSaidEverything · 16/10/2018 12:37

MrsTWH I think it’s fine - as long as there’s no way he’ll find out!

PenguinSaidEverything · 16/10/2018 12:37

DD passed - feel really guilty for assuming she wouldn’t!

Gazelda · 16/10/2018 12:59

SW Herts consortium tomorrow - anyone know how they communicate results? Is it by email or just F5 on the website?

KanielOutis · 16/10/2018 18:29

DD scored 350.57 on the CSSE test, in catchment. We are really hoping for WHSG. Congratulations to all on the great scores. So glad it's now over.

crisscrosscranky · 16/10/2018 19:56

@KanielOutis if you're in catchment you're 99% guaranteed congrats to your DD

Fuzzywig · 16/10/2018 20:02

Is anyone waiting for Liverpool results?

Email from St Hilda’s today saying a letter has been posted 2nd class so should hear something by Friday.

chimppyjamas · 17/10/2018 07:46

CSSE/ Essex people - DS is right at the bottom of the yellow zone for Kegs, has anyone got any experience of this and getting a place? My fingers will be crossed until March!

Furrycushion · 17/10/2018 08:05

Second class Fuzzywig? That's just mean. Why can't they all use email or a secure site these days? It would save them a fortune that could be spent on actually educating our children.

CherryValance · 17/10/2018 08:06

Gazelda I got an email when my elder son got his results in 2015, but looks like it’s logging into the website this time, from about midday the email said.

PerspicaciaTick · 17/10/2018 08:27

chimppyjamas, I don't know about his chances but my DS is in the same position at the bottom of the yellow band for KEGS. It is going to be a very long wait.

Gazelda · 17/10/2018 09:30

Thanks Cherry. Roll on midday ...

aintnothinbutagstring · 17/10/2018 10:39

fuzzy we're waiting for results by post too (CCHS), really hope they come today. Not overly hopeful as DD found the maths 'challenging' (her words!) but put a lot of effort into answering the verbal and non verbal questions. We're lucky to be near some good comps so all is not lost but as others have said, you don't want them to feel like failures. Good luck to all Flowers

Fuzzywig · 17/10/2018 12:40

Furrycushion - it’s ridiculous isn’t it? The test was about 6 weeks ago. She was so excited to get the email. I had strict instructions not to read any emails so she raced down to open the email only to be advised they were sending results second class via the post 🙄. Absolute a waste of school money.

We are waiting for a few other entrance exam results but believe we will have them in the next week or so.

Good luck everyone. Aintnothingbutagstring My daughter said the exams were easy which makes me very nervous. Sending you and your daughter positive vibes x
