I’ve just just asked DD what the sandwich box and bottle are for in the fridge. It turns out she’s made her first packed lunch ready for school. She doesn’t start till next Tuesday HmmSmile

(She could walk the 2 stops that she travels on the bus but it's free so she saves herself for the 25 mins uphill she has after it Grin

Penguinsetpandas · 21/09/2018 15:54

1 and walk here 😎

Witchend · 21/09/2018 15:54

Thank you! He has just smiled and agreed maybe it isn't as impossible as he thought. Grin
He just needs 15 people. I said 14 and he could count himself but apparently I was being ridiculous! Grin

I'll join in for the sake of helping homework

  1. 1;
  2. Car (but only because I'm literally driving past the gate on my way to work at the right time. Seems stupid to make him get the train which takes 30 mins longer)

  1. 0
  2. Walk

Not good today she's been forced to work with the boys again and they have been shoving her around . I'm.going to have to try and get down there next week .i dont send her to school to be assaulted and having a penis does not mean the onus is on her to ignore it and expect it because that's what's boys do Hmm

SassitudeandSparkle · 21/09/2018 16:11

Witchend, happy to help.

  1. None
  2. School bus, same as Frayed it's a dedicated service run by a local company that goes into the school grounds.

A good day here today, already in a onesie on her laptop and looking forward to the homework weekend!

Bunnybigears · 21/09/2018 16:30

Surely he is supposed to ask the year 7s in his school? As a kind of maths/social homework mixed together? Ill join in anyway

BerriesandLeaves · 21/09/2018 16:36

Giles. Sorry that's happened. I'd send an email today if i were you.

Gileswithachainsaw · 21/09/2018 16:39

I have to go to work shortly . I'm going to talk to dd tomorrow and get her to tell me exactly what happened and get it sent over the weekend. So far I only have a couple of names...

Us it the done thing to name names? I don't wanna make things worse but these boys are ruining it all for her.

Any suggestions of how to word it are welcome...I'm crap at this stuff . So any phrases I can steal from here ....

Witchend · 21/09/2018 16:51

Thanks all.
Not it doesn't have to be at his school. It was given last period and had to be in on Tuesday so that would be unfair.

FrayedHem · 21/09/2018 17:27

Giles
yes name names and include dates and rough times of who and what they did. I'd also include what response she got from the form tutor. The school should have their behaviour policy online. Worth checking what should be happening.

So I'd do something like

Dear

My daughter, miniGiles is in form/mentor group x in Year 7. I am becoming increasingly concerned about the behaviour of [Turds ] towards her.
On the September @ around [turds 1,23] did [xyz]
On the
On the

My daughter informed her form tutor on and was told

This is clearly unacceptable and is causing my daughter much distress. Whilst I appreciate you may need some time to fully investigate, I would ask for the following arrangements to be made in the interim:

The seating to be rearranged in x class(es) so DD is not next to [turds]
The work arranged in x class(es) to be changed so DD is not with [turds]
A named member of staff DD can report any further incidents to.

I look forward to your earliest reply.

Gileswithachainsaw · 21/09/2018 17:30

frayed that is really helpful thank you so much. Have screen shotted and will fill in the blanks -And try not to use turds however tempting it may be over weekend and get it sent Flowers

FrayedHem · 21/09/2018 17:37

I hope it's sorted out quickly Giles. Your poor DD shouldn't be having to deal with this.

Gileswithachainsaw · 21/09/2018 17:39

Thank you Flowers

FrayedHem · 21/09/2018 18:24

Probably also worth asking for a back up named person DD can report to in the event the first one isn't available. And asking for a procedure of how DD can contact them (e.g. DD to go to x dept/student reception etc). And mention there are turds of unknown names but a description if she can.

Urgh so much homework! DS has been coping ok with it but today he has had to start a 5 hour DT homework (a few times in the year they have a project for a subject that they have two weeks to do - but they do have other homework to do at the same time). It's pretty involved with designing a toy but of course with DT you have to do 4 preliminary designs then whittle it down. Stupid bloody subject. DS had a mini meltdown so I got him to do a bit of it then let him off. I will battle it again on Sunday (I give them Saturdays off of homework).

Witchend · 21/09/2018 21:01

Thanks to everyone who answered. He asked people he felt he knew well enough locally and with the answers here we have plenty.
He was just panicking at the thought of having to go up to people he felt he didn't know and say "hello, can I have your answers!"

He's very impressed with MN!

Lougle · 21/09/2018 21:32

Oh Witch I'm too late! Just in case he wants a variety:

  1. 2
  2. Walk 5 minutes, then Bus.

Sorry to hear about the boy trouble, Giles. I agree that they need to nip it in the bud.

Titsywoo I feel your homework pain. DD2 and I had cross words about homework today. I'm really not feeling well and couldn't go to work today, so coaxing her reluctantly through various pieces of homework is the last thing I need.

school has now told us, they expect dc to use a laptop for homework. dc has to have it after half term.

we don't have one...
so will probably buy a cheap (ish) one just for school.
I wonder what pupils do whose family can't afford to buy one?
