Kingscote better now for the sudden Physics understanding than tomorrow afternoon I suppose.

After tomorrow, how many of us will still be going next week? I know about German and further/additional maths. DT is usually one of the later ones too.

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:04

Lol! 'King' many moons ago maybe though I have played concerto de l'orange as we used to call it! on flugelhorn!Smile

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:06

P.s brass players resort to drink because they get so bored counting their bars rest......

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:07

And then either .missing or fluffing the note in a ridiculous key like f# major!

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:09

Transposed up a fourth with an accidental, staccato, and ppp.!

JufusMum · 14/06/2018 22:10

DD having a meltdown over Physics. Seems there are a few topics that have not been covered. She hasn't had a Physics teacher since year 9 so I'm guessing this is the issue. I hate that school so much!!!

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:10

Nite!

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:14

They didnt finish magnetism or even start space at dgds school in physics jufus but be calm and eat Cake all will be fine! Flowers

Teenmum60 · 14/06/2018 22:15

TheThirdOfHerName - Hope you feeling better now...

DD still going next week - just Tuesday DT Graphic Products ...not too worrying she has already completed 60% via coursework....then the girls are going out again for a meal to celebrate DD finishing exams.

I nearly made a very big boob ...just went out to move car onto drive...and realised that I had very little petrol ...I had meant to fill up when I picked DD up from her DF's but forgot ...we almost certainly would have run out on the way to Physics exam because no petrol stations on route until we get to town...so pleased I had things I wanted to take out of the car tonight Gin

KittiesInsane · 14/06/2018 22:18

That's an idea Brainmelt. I'm not sure the school nurse is actually in school very often, and DD is terrified of her, but it's still a good idea!

DD has been in bed since 8:30. No point trying to cram Magnetism into a fevered brain.

mmzz · 14/06/2018 22:19

Jufus, Sost, There must be shortage of good Physics teachers because serious shortcomings in what DS has been taught have come into focus on our house tonight too.
I'm worried. DS needs a 7 to get into the sixth form and it's looking like it will take some luck tomorrow to get there.

KingscoteStaff · 14/06/2018 22:26

A final burst of Physics support from the thread’s Emotional Assistance Rabbit.

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:29

Here you go folks just in case you were wondering....appropriate title for you lot ( except me I ain't no lady!)

Teenmum60 · 14/06/2018 22:29

I am sure your DS will be fine mmzz ... hope your DD feels better tomorrow Kittie.

Dd seems Ok with Physics - despite DF disrupting revision....its a subject she loves and has a very good teacher - he is very engaging and all the girls really like him - he always gets invited to the Prom - despite being in his late 40's and very prim and proper....so thankful he will be one of the A level teachers too.

TheThirdOfHerName · 14/06/2018 22:37

Thank you Teenmum60 I'm feeling about 50% better today.

When I was doing A-level Physics, our teacher got promoted to SLT half-way through our course, and we barely saw him after that. Luckily I was doing Maths & Mechanics and Chemistry as two of my other subjects, and there was some overlap. The rest of the course we had to teach ourselves.

Teenmum60 · 14/06/2018 22:42

Glad your feeling a little better ...When does DS1 finish his A levels ...hope they are going well...I dont think I will cope with DD when she does her A levels

Stickerrocks · 14/06/2018 22:42

DD's school is only showing German, add maths & graphics for next week. I pity the DC taking German, as they must be studying it independently and will be finishing all by themself.

Got title wrong loose it was 46 years ago blimey! I am Alf getting on!

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 22:43

third glad your recovering nasty virus that was!Flowers

TheThirdOfHerName · 14/06/2018 22:55

Thank you Sostenueto

Teenmum60 he has one last exam next Tuesday. He has managed to go to every exam so far, has stayed until the end of each one and has attempted every question. There have been several times when I wasn't sure he would complete his A-levels, so I'm v.relieved he has got this far.

Teenmum60 · 14/06/2018 23:14

That's brilliant news third - such resilience...I hope he gets the results he needs and come Tuesday you can relax a little ..

JufusMum · 14/06/2018 23:15

Sticker my DD is doing German. She's been studying independently since February when German teacher left (replaced by PE teacher who doesn't speak German!), add that to no physics teacher and no maths teacher it's quite a mix!!

TerfTerfTerf · 14/06/2018 23:16

Gorgeous bunny king, will show to DS tomorrow morning before physics. Tried to test him on electromagnetism tonight but he doesn't seem to know very much about it. He won't fail just on that so hopefully he knows lots of other stuff Confused He is somewhat cheered by the thought that he never has to do a physics exam again or sit through a physics lesson. I got a C at O level and I never understood 80% of the course (I still swear electricity is magic)

sost please write a book, or get your DGD to write it for her EPQ if she does one GrinGrin Your life sounds very interesting!

DevaDiva · 14/06/2018 23:30

DD has also had a bit of a meltdown this evening, must be because the end is in touching distance. She knows NO PHYSICS, first Paper was a disaster (ok at the time) and she's rethinking her a-levels (Physics was going to be one of them!). Roll onto tomorrow

AlexanderHamilton · 14/06/2018 23:44

There is another school who it will affect more. Dd hasn’t officially been told they took aside the ones who were closest but a friend of ours from elsewhere who also knew the person messaged me. It’s not a child but still a shock

Caravsnning was due to end on Saturday but due to dh’s 8.30am MRI scan & hotel issues for prom we may stay another week.

The site manager has been fantastic today.
