Big hug for you Sost. I buy quality casual for DD, but if she wants any tat she can buy it herself for college! At the moment she Ives in tennis kit, ripped jeans or short strappy dresses.it goes from one extreme to the other!

Thethird Glad there's some improvement, but poor old you! Have you tried anaesthetic throat sprays Ultra Chloraseptic. They just give a temporary relief from the pain. I'm dental phobic & I've just found a bottle to help tomorrow when I go for a check up.

Third poor you, that's really unfair - sounds like you need a good rest (and some pampering) to get rid of the bugs. Tonsillitis is horrible. Thanks

TheThirdOfHerName · 17/06/2018 12:37

Thank you Stickerrocks and Loose
I've been feeling a bit run down since half-term, so I suspected that I was coming down with something, but was hoping that I'd be able to keep going until the DCs had finished their exams. I seem to have failed on that score, but at least they've only got a couple more exams to do.

Cblue · 17/06/2018 13:39

@TheThirdOfHerName - I hope you get better soon and suspect that this exam season has taken it out of everyone Sad

DD complaining of sore throat, ulcers, athletes foot, period pain, amongst a multitude of other things- she's describing herself as in peak physical condition ha ha

I still have a gaping hole where the stress used to live and am looking for something else to worry about!!!

Is it just me feeling unsettled?

hmcAsWas · 17/06/2018 16:05

Re whether unform or not - I am dreading dd wearing her own clothes for sixth form college. She cares waaaaay too much about what people think of her.

I am feeling unsettled Cblue but not about the void left post exams. Busy attempting baking for a bake sale to raise money for my Great Wall of China trek next year, and the only thing that has been successful so far has been the stuff I didn't need to cook - i.e. chocolate cornflake clusters. My lemon drizzle sank in the middle and had a soggy bottom, my flapjack cleaved to the sides of the baking tray and my chocolate brownies were a sticky mess.

Shortbread up next Confused

Oratory1 · 17/06/2018 16:18

I know what you mean Cblue. I'm glad DS has decided to get involved in end of terms stuff and go in for music etc. I think it would feel strange to have just ended now.

mmzz · 17/06/2018 16:28

I think there are 2 threads running now.

Stickerrocks · 17/06/2018 16:29

Cblue I've moved onto the next thread, but wanted to reply yo say, yes, I'm quite twitchy. My diary seems jammed with exam & school leaving stuff still, so I'm glad I'm working from home for a couple of weeks. However, the first day when I don't have to drop here off on the way to work or find a way of getting her home is going to be very strange, as I'm so used to dashing into work at the last minute and running off again to take her somewhere. The thought of her taking up household duties again though is great.
