So true mmzz!! We've had six and a half weeks of exams. It's like a chronic pain, you get used to it but at the same time it slowly wears you out till one day you think, why am I so incredibly unsettled and unhappy? Oh yes.

LooseAtTheSeams · 14/06/2018 14:21

Bimkom not an imposter at all - I didn't sleep much the night before DS's first exam and it would have been the same if it had been his only subject. I agree doing one in Y10 would be a good dress rehearsal.
Biblical Hebrew sounds pretty tough to me, hope he has a good paper!Smile
Sostenueto wish I could see dgd's face when the dreaded dentist appointment turns out to be a lovely treat. You are epicStar!

AlexanderHamilton · 14/06/2018 14:24

Please excuse brevity.

They are chasing cat scan results. MRI was booked for Tuesday.

hmcAsWas · 14/06/2018 15:02

Thinking of you Alexander - and hoping that they sort your dh out and get the right ongoing preventative treatment in place Flowers

AlexanderHamilton · 14/06/2018 15:08

He’s been discharged. If it happens again they will keep him in.

Stickerrocks · 14/06/2018 15:12

Are you going to stay in the caravan Alexander? How is DD coping?

OP posts:
farangatang · 14/06/2018 15:15

Alexander how very concerning for you and your DD. I hope all is well with your DH's health going forward. [should be a hugs emoji]

hmc your DD's prom dress is gorgeous!

brainmelt thank you for your applause. 5 hours daily practise on four instruments is HUGELY impressive!

The Third great advice!

loose perhaps see your DC at Wimbledon and I'll be wondering which one he is!

Cherry - my DD has chosen the same subjects as yours did (apart from Latin which she would have done if it was offered)!

Sost I'm getting vicariously excited for your DGD (and DD) for their weekend!! Hope your personal situation improves soon, too.

AlexanderHamilton · 14/06/2018 15:20

I was due to come down this afternoon anyway.

Dd is unaware at the moment. She’d gone to school in a taxi & dh went to the site cafe. We are not going to tell her it’s happened again until after tomorrow.

farangatang · 14/06/2018 15:20

And now for the hard to believe news - DD's GCSEs are OVER!

Her award is lovely, her prom dress looks fabulous (a few adjustments and it's good to go) and she now owns a pair of heels! Had her favourite dinner tonight and we're packing for our weekend away (once I'm off MN, of course).

Sost your DGD's Spanish today sounds remarkably similar to my DD's and she is doing EdExcel!

Here's cheers to a long Summer Grin and good luck to all DC still finishing their marathon GCSE journey,

Stickerrocks · 14/06/2018 15:26

Any other feedback on Spanish? DD said it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either, which doesn't sound encouraging. However, this was always going to be her wild card paper.

Well done Frangatang. Pleased to hear everything is moving in the right direction.

Practice your "Everything is going to be fine" face Alexander and believe it will be.

OP posts:
farangatang · 14/06/2018 15:33

Sticker DD said the translation was tricky but the rest of the paper was OK/fine (which could mean anything). She felt she'd revised enough for the tasks and managed to cobble together a translation. Friends felt similarly - all came out of the exam saying it was pretty hard.

Good news for grade boundaries?

slinkyme · 14/06/2018 15:36

Reservoir thank you for that - will take a look.

Brain completely get what you said about chronic pain - it so feels like that right now. Worn out and feel under the weather.

slinkyme · 14/06/2018 15:38

Farang congrats on crossing the line. Will be there soon. Enjoy and relax.

LooseAtTheSeams · 14/06/2018 15:39

farangatang very well done on the finish and the award! (I'll pm you about DS nearer the time!)
Alexander glad they let him come home but I'm sure it feels like a long wait for the MRI.
Came home from work to find DS not revising Physics but apparently he is going to go through it all 'again' this evening...

mmzz · 14/06/2018 15:46

The world cup has started, and everything has come to a grinding halt. DS has done 99.9% of his Physics revision for tomorrow. It is so frustrating!

AlexanderHamilton · 14/06/2018 15:51

No exams for dd today but she’s in for physics revision.

Stickerrocks · 14/06/2018 16:18

I think that is more encouraging on the Spanish front. DD says she managed quite well on the grammar but forgot some essential words.

brainmelt · 14/06/2018 16:45

No much revision here either but did a past paper and apparently got 95% (self marked using mark scheme I should add...) so he's gone for a brisk wall with DH and I shall not press for more this evening. Qué será, será....Confused
Congrats on good Spanish feedback everyone.

brainmelt · 14/06/2018 16:46

Brisk wall what is that 😂😂

Teenmum60 · 14/06/2018 16:46

Alexander so sorry to hear your news today ...I do hope they find what is causing the mini strokes...
Thanks to everyone who gave some advice about 6th form etc...

I'm shattered having worked late last night and been to Kent and back today...off for a power nap before I pick DD up from DF's...this is what happens when you are old!

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 16:50

Further amendment on the amendment of Spanish post...it was edexcelBlush

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 16:55

Glad to say pup is almost back to normal her 'baby' has an ear hanging off which she keeps licking but, considering she was the one who in her angst to clean it by ferociously nipping it (obviously flea searching) nearly bit it off , is little constellation to poor 'baby' ( thank goodness its not a real pup!)Grin

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 17:00

Did says dgd keeps going upstairs for half hour, wonders down again, mucks about on ipod, eats and eats , then goes up again. The half hour has now dwindled to 10 minutes work and an hour or two faffing around! So not much revision for tomorrow physics. She will ring me in a moment and I will give her inspirational talkWink and real revision may then take placeHmm.

Sostenueto · 14/06/2018 17:03

alexander extra hugs from meFlowers
