GCSEs 2018 (12) Are we nearly there yet?!

@ lobster from several pages ago. Yes I think ds thought the biology exam was too geography like (he doesn't do geography either)!

Same complaint from DD about her OCR A level biology too. So they have moaned together!

DS still refusing to do any maths. Told me again that he finds it insulting that he should! Plenty of history revision going on though!

Regarding my previous post about DD and A level subjects, she shuts me down with conversation. No idea what Uni she is aiming for.

I am so thankful for this thread as I get nothing from DD, every exam has been “fine” and she will not tell me about content. On the surface I am a swan, all calm but I am paddling hard underneath. I think the supportive nature of this thread even though I feel I can’t contribute only due to the fact that DD doesn’t tell me anything about the papers..

Oddsocks I use the post mortems on here to casually drop things into the conversation in the hope I get something back. Today I asked if anything had come up on hormones and she replied "a bit".

No motivation for revision for tomorrows math exam from dgd. Dd rang me up to have a word with her. I said for you know it all? Dgd said not all. I said then what are you doing talking to me on the phone then! Dd said she's scarpered upstairs. I said that doesn't necessarily mean she is revising go check!

Other Info - super proud Mum - ds handling it brilliantly - the results are almost unimportant.

DS's got History and Maths tomorrow but he's decided just to do History tonight, he said he's confident with maths.......I said but what if its a really hard paper.......he said it will be ok (not sure whether he meant the paper or him!)

Forgot to mention dgd got email about coursework for art and it has been internally marked as 51/70 i think she said. Not bad maybe a 6/7 for not a lot of effort.

Hatels being nosey, what sort of free school is it & pros/cons of going into a school presumably in its infancy. I'm an avid Guardian reader and Toby "free school" Whatshisname annoys me.

stickerrocks I hardly see DD these days as she is holed up in her bedroom. Doesn’t even come out for food.... when I do see her, I use MN or a Facebook group I belong to for parents of Y11 at DDs school to drop things into conversation and get “I’ll tell you if you need to know anything”...

Standing joke in my household “she’s probably got a spreadsheet”. 3 day itinerary in Rome including restaurant bookings? 4 days in Barca? Yep. Entire wedding plan including web links? Yep. 2 weeks in US Uni shopping? Yep. Food shopping list? Yep. And then there’s my mega work spreadsheets......
So yes please, a nice juicy spreadsheet is exactly what’s required!!!!
