RueDewakening thanks a lot Flowers
Keep helping us 🙏🙏

Toomanycats sorry to 'hear' about your DD. She did very well to get this far. I think lots of pampering is in order. It must be frustrating with how well she did in English.

MRSMYM I agree with Rue. Lots of practice, we did bond, first past the post, cgp. There are so many topics in maths that won't have been covered by the end of year 5, if you have the time to go through them yourself then that should be fine, otherwise you may need some help closing the gaps.

Rue well done to your DD.

@Puddinglane12 thanks for the message - although when I told her she wasn’t far off in maths she said that was worse! Including her I think 5 girls in class have sat second Stage. Her and one other failed 3 passed. There were a couple more that failed first stage. We are lucky in that we both liked a non grammar which we have been in catchment for for last couple of years so all being well we will get in there. There is also a couple more she liked and we should get into one of those at least. Even the one we didn’t like isn’t that bad a school in the big scheme of things!!! My husband is telling me to remember how upset she got when she didn’t immediately ‘get’ everything in the run up to it and how we don’t want 7 years of that which is true!

Hi puddinglane did your DD do OK ? ( fingers crossed). We're waiting till Friday for DSs results! Nerve wracking!

Puddinglane12 · 18/10/2017 17:22

Whatabout, DD passed and is of selective eligibility. Needless to say we are very happy and relieved. The last 2 weeks have been the longest so far this year. The wait isn't nice at all, especially when the DC are asking when they are due/ if they've arrived.

Wishing you and your DS the very best for Friday.

Well done pudding's DD! Yes I'll be glad when we know, the waiting ' s tough. But
just waking up to the fact that even if he is of selective ability, it doesn't guarantee a place. In 1983 I got into grammar school at 15 on the back of a chat with the headmaster, and the fact that I was good at latin!

Puddinglane12 · 23/10/2017 16:12

Hi whatabout, how did your ds do? Keeping fingers crossed

Puddinglane12 · 23/10/2017 16:13

Whataboutbob

Thanks puddinglane. He passed sutton grammar school ( but not Wilson's). We are delighted. I know he probably only has a 50% chance of a place at SGS, but I'm so proud of him Smile

Puddinglane12 · 25/10/2017 22:24

Well done to your DS whataboutbob. He has done really well and you should be proud of him indeed.
