DD said she'd like to start getting some of the stuff she needs today - the item she specifically mentioned was a laundry basket/bag. Anyone know if the op up mesh ones are ok?

Etaina · 18/08/2017 11:06

Thanks everyone for your support yesterday. UCAS Track still hadn't updated this morning so Dd called Admissions and they updated it with the offer straight away. What a relief! We can finally relax.

So much to do now. I've no idea what she needs to take to uni so will be watching this thread with interest.

Best of luck to all of those who are still waiting to hear about offers.

Horsemad · 18/08/2017 11:08

So pleased for you and your DD Etaina Smile

Horsemad · 18/08/2017 11:18

Errol, DS1 has one of those and it is fine.
I bought his from Argos I think.

Penellafant · 18/08/2017 11:43

Silly question here - DD's track shows she has a place at her first choice University - does she need to confirm acceptance somehow or is the fact that is shows on track mean its confirmed (hope this makes sense!)

user9512736123 · 18/08/2017 11:56

I asked this yesterday and was told it was OK, it was confirmed automatically but on the screen shot I got shown on the mobile it stated 'congratulations your place to study X at Y is confirmed'

Talking of which, remember to tell Student Finance if the course has changed - we've just had to do that because it's the same university but a different course.

I am very anxious now that we've cocked up somehow.

DS verbally accepted a Clearing offer from Reading yesterday. He quickly updated his Track to accept it. He even rang at 5pm to tell them.

But it hasn't updated.

What is the problem??

We feel like we're going backwards because he turned down Exeter and Cardiff for this. And it now seems to be illusory.

We're very worried tbh. Any advice?

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 14:09

P.s. deadline to accept was noon today.

HSMMaCM · 18/08/2017 14:11

Liney's DD was panicking about hers and just emailed admissions. They sent a confirmation email pretty quickly, to confirm all was OK.

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 14:20

HSMMacM, thank you, he's just done that. I am on tenterhooks here. I'm getting that prickly feeling you get where you realise you've misread a 24 hour click and are about to miss your flight.

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 15:07

There's not much that makes me cry these days but Reading just sent an accommodation info email and Track updated and it's all confirmed.

Thank you all Flowers

Etaina · 18/08/2017 15:08

Lineys we were in the same position yesterday. It still hadn't updated this morning so I got Dd to call admissions and he did it whilst she was on the phone. I just couldn't relax until it was confirmed on UCAS Track. Best of luck.

Etaina · 18/08/2017 15:09

Cross post! Congratulations! Fabulous news Flowers Wine

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 15:12

That's exactly it, Etaina, you can't relax until you see it on Track.

I've printed it out for posterity! And now for a massive weekend Wine

Etaina · 18/08/2017 15:16

Hope you have a fabulous celebration! So pleased for you and DS.

DD just got an offer of accommodation. She only applied a couple of hours ago. Can't believe it came through so quickly!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/08/2017 15:22

Thats good. I know its been a horribly stressful day or so for you, but really its quite amazing how quickly they sort out so many places, when you think about what must be involved.

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 15:37

It's staggering how they ever did it in my day. Anyone remember UCCA?!

Mellifera · 18/08/2017 15:44

My daughter had her offer updated on Track this morning, applied for accommodation and has already had an email to confirm her first choice within 2 hours!
I feel I've aged 10 years yesterday.

She is now planning what to take (bike 😱 we haven't got a bike rack) and she's also off on holiday for 2 weeks with a friend on Monday.

And next week we have another results day to get through, DS's GCSEs 🙈

Mellifera · 18/08/2017 15:45

Liney, glad to hear it 🍷indeed

LineysRun · 18/08/2017 17:07

Reading University accommodation opens for clearing candidates on 22nd, so we're coil-sprung and ready!

God the relief.

MirabelleTree · 18/08/2017 17:13

Excellent news Liney Wine

user9512736123 · 18/08/2017 17:16

Thank goodness for that Liney, so pleased it's all sorted for you.

We're hanging around waiting for the accommodation offer that we should get next week, due to health reasons we've had to put in a very specific request so I hope that it's all sorted.

OP posts:
LittleHo · 18/08/2017 17:26

Glad to hear most people are sorted now. Smile

Fingers crossed for anyone still going through the mill.

tobee · 18/08/2017 17:28

Anyone who got insurance or clearing re accommodation are you optimistic of getting uni accommodation ? I've looked up non uni accommodation in case but I can't tell if they're likely to have others from his uni rather than other colleges. I wasn't inspired by the unis no uni accommodation link. I know I'm worrying before necessary, but always think my natural tendency is to be behind the game.
