KitKat thank you for posting and wish the best for your son. I am pleased to say we haven't had a letter today but still anxious for tomorrow. Have to remember it is only a school but will have a glass or two to calm my nerves!

Kitkat1205 very brave of you to post and so sorry it wasn't the news you wanted. It sounds a cliche but I'm a great believer in things turning out for the best after things that seem disappointing - I'm sure the loss is RGS's and I'm sure your son will thrive and be happy wherever he goes. Enjoy your wine (I have had the opposite of "dry January' with all this stuff!!) and best of luck to your son.

Post been and gone. Day off from postman stalking

Postman been but no post from RGS. DS received an offer from another school today; so thinking if indeed 'a bird in hand is better than two in the bush' 😊. Will definitely post here if I get to hear anything from RGS next week. Good luck everyone 👍🏽. Meanwhile, enjoy your 🍷 (ignorance is bliss ) indeed 😆!

Was just wondering. Does anyone know when the head teachers find out? Do they know already?

Was told by the Deputy Head of another school that the headteacher of the current school gets informed 2 days before the parents of the child are informed. Problem with RGS is that parents of children trying for RGS get informed on a range of dates; so it's really hard to guess the date when your child's current school's headteacher gets to know. I would say if you are in very good terms with the headteacher, u can go ahead and ask.

I am sure the Head knows the no's as they call the parents in to chat. I have been watching my phone and mail! We've had our post and nothing in it from the RGS. I guess they could be cruel and send another batch tonight as you can tell I am still nervous!

Sazzy5, u r so right about this. I was relieved on Sat when the postman came but we had no post from RGS. However, that night my husband showed me the forum posts from last year, where lots of parents had received NOs on Tuesday of the week following the Thursday the NOs were supposedly posted; my literally heart sank! I am now waiting for today's post and tomorrow's. Hope RGS won't be so cruel as to post it so late in Jan that they ruin our Feb as well!!!

Forevermum2017 your husband sounds like mine, just when you think you are safe they find a way to make you worry again! It is agonizing and the amount of people I know who haven't heard seems high considering there are only about 40/50 spaces left. I know that some people don't say anything so we are all literally guessing. Here's hoping the letters have been and gone!!

Sazzy5, u made me 😂! Well past the postman's arrival time here, but no post for us today I guess. Exactly! Not many ppl have said they have received NOs .. so we still can expect the bad news to come through this week! Thank you to all the lovely ladies here for keeping me company in my endless wait for answers 😘. Hope God makes you all very happy mums at the end of this ordeal 🙏🏼.

OW, thank you for posting. I hope the knowing is better than the waiting and am sure you will find the right school. Anyone dare to call RGS? I left a voicemail last week which hasn't been returned so daren't call again ;-)

I'm so sorry OlennasWimple I thought Monday's were ok as they couldn't post anything over the weekend. I hope you are ok, it's such a hard ruthless process. Notinigella, my husband dared to call twice this afternoon. Went to voicemail, so guess they aren't keen to answer. Wish RGS contracted the Email Bug 😜.

Thanks - we're fine, we have another offer in hand, still waiting to hear about another (though think it's a no, from what we have heard about others who have been invited to interview). Now trying to work out whether to accept the offer we have, or try other schools who run their 13+ admissions process next year. Bird in the hand, and all that!
