The thread that got us all through the exams is now full so here's a new one to get us through the nervous wait for results

Well done to all our brave Y11s and wish every last one of them all the best

My o level results came in the post. I made mum open them. She was in her bed. I was in mine. She shouted out "What's a pass?"

For A levels we had to go into school. I remember being so nervous I could barely walk.

I will have to take DD in for hers as she is incapable of getting the ordinary bus. I will sit in the car whilst she and her mates compare results no doubt.

Then she is off to Leeds Festival in the afternoon.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/08/2016 07:25

do you need me to find another happy song Exit? Grin

Iwantacampervan · 08/08/2016 07:51

My daughter is making plans to meet up with friends to go in and collect results - I'm not sure that she's going to want to open hers in front of everyone though. I'm in denial too - we're away soon so will not think about it until I get back.

My O' and A' Level results were posted - I was away for both. I didn't bother with the O' Levels until I got home but for A' Levels, as my university place depended on the grades, I rang my next door neighbour from the campsite payphone at lunchtime (huge pile of coins to keep feeding into the phone!)
My brother's school used to post all results on the noticeboard as well as send them.

ExitPursuedByABear · 08/08/2016 08:04

Oh yes please OYBBK

Icouldbeknitting · 08/08/2016 08:57

I suggested to DS that we purchase a black balaclava and black plimsolls for results day so he could be the results ninja and sneak in and out unseen and I managed to get a laugh out of him so thank you for that ^TheSecond*. It is very definitely not a subject for discussion so to have some acknowledgment that there will be results this month was a good thing.

Oh no, no, no, no. We had the duck song here many years ago, it was son's best friend's favourite and they would collapse giggling on the floor. I had a total flashback followed by a speedy hit on the pause button.

ShanghaiDiva · 08/08/2016 09:53

Yes , remember getting O level results in the post. We had to take our own stamped and addressed envelopes into school!

raspberryrippleicecream · 08/08/2016 10:39

A level results first here for DS1, so poor DD isn't getting quite the same level of worry!

She is planning to do the ninja thing too.

HesMyLobster · 08/08/2016 11:27

Another one here planning to do the ninja thing too!

DD has asked dd2 to walk to the school with her and from there they are both going to a dance workshop for the day.
So it's almost like a casual "oh we'll just swing by and grab them on the way!"

I'll be at work hoping I at least get a text at some point!

HesMyLobster · 08/08/2016 11:28

Good luck for igcse results this week! Wine

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/08/2016 12:36

Grin knitting!

We have a ninja army on our hands!

needastrongone · 10/08/2016 14:13

I have only just realised you guys are here!

We are in Florida at the minute, but back on Saturday.

DS is chilled still about his results. Our school is rural, so I will be driving him in on results day. I've told him I am coming with him to find out his results regardless of what he thinks about it. Luckily, that's fine with him.

I think then, they have to clarify the options they have chosen, but I need to check that, I kind of breathed a big sigh of relief and forgot about it after the last exam.

We've done a bit of sixth form clothes shopping, DS had few clothes, and it's non uniform.

Gosh, it's a bit soon now isn't it?!

needastrongone · 10/08/2016 14:20

Just checked, brief interview after results to clarify choices on results day, students to arrive between 9am and 11am to get their results.

NicknameUsed · 10/08/2016 21:32

"I've told him I am coming with him to find out his results regardless of what he thinks about it."

I understand that it really isn't the done thing for parents to go into school with the year 11s. I will be waiting nervously in the car park, but DD would be so embarrassed if I went into school with her.

TheSecondOfHerName · 10/08/2016 21:38

I'll probably wait in the park behind the school, hiding behind a newspaper, trying to be incognito. That way, I'm close by if he needs me, but if he doesn't, then no one will ever know I was there.

TheDrsDocMartens · 11/08/2016 07:15

Dd1 hasn't really mentioned what she plans to do. I'd like to go & be nosy as I know a lot of the kids through invigilating but I'm probably going to be at home with dc3/4

ShanghaiDiva · 11/08/2016 07:27

Ds got his iGCSE results today. Took a few attempts to be able to log on, but good news for him with all A*s :)
Waiting for AS maths next Thursday and then all over for another year!

amazing Shanghai! Congratulations to him :)

ShanghaiDiva · 11/08/2016 07:49

Thanks for all the congratulations. He was predicted good grades, but I still thought I was going to vomit when we were waiting to log on!
Good luck to everyone waiting for results on the 25th - will be checking in Thursday pm :)

Thethingswedoforlove · 11/08/2016 07:52
