Wonderful news Shanghai !

DD has been off on an expedition since the day school broke up. She got back yesterday and seems at least two years older. It is sooo lovely to have her home.

She can collect her results from 9 on results day, then has her enrolment appointment for 6th form at 9.30. I've been told I must stay at home, but school is only a short walk should she need any help/cuddles/advice. I'm loving the ninja image though and will adopt this rather than the skulking I had in mind first!

I'm reasonably sure most of the parents were around on results day last year, but it is of course up to DS how he decides to get his results and who is with him at that time.

Ds has just popped down to say he's found out his results for the Cambridge igcses.

His friend emailed to say the results were on the pupil portal. It's the science ones we really need to know though as they're the ones he needs an A* in....... 😑

Derek it's a good start. I remembered that the A level science requirement was very high and when I saw the first few words on the "I'm watching" page I thought "this is it....." The suspense is not over yet then.

I think its made the suspense worse! I think ds is a bit upset about English lit, this subject was collateral damage from the German debacle. I'll have a chat with him later and when we get the actual marks, maybe we could consider a remark. I suspect that we wouldn't even be thinking about English if we had all the other results!

We won't get DS's iGCSE results for Biology or Chemistry until the 25th, but I've seen this year's grade boundaries and they are quite low for those two subjects, which is encouraging as DS found the Chemistry extended theory paper quite difficult and doesn't think he got more than 50%.

Congrats on the results so far! I can't even believe we have got to the results stage! Seems such a long process. Then again I am not sure I am ready for the 25th!

Congratulations to dcs on results so far. It's also interesting to read that some dcs are exceeding expectations. I suspect some schools do underestimate when making grade predictions fantasy but the teacher's statement "never achieve" does seem a bit strong.
If dds predictions are accurate, am expecting more average results than those listed so far and hope we're not the only ones on results day.
