I am disappointed that there has not been a thread this year but so am stopping 'lurking'. Not want to give any specifics as maybe there is an extra exam day although this doesnt seem to be published anywhere but did anyone on Saturday ask how many Year 7 possible boys there were, as it is hard to tell who is for which year? It is pointless to ask 1 suppose as the boys are so differnet and with multiple choice method it's impossibel for boys to to know for certian anyway but the 'verdict' was Maths and English OK but the VR hard. I think January will seem a very long month.

Hi princesitalinda - good news. I'm also cautiously optimistic but don't dare be too much after all the ups and downs of the past couple of weeks! We are also waiting on another school this week so it's likely the same one!

surreygoldfish · 27/01/2016 19:26

Fingers crossed for those still waiting. Glad it's all behind us (we have a DD to go but I'm not worrying about that yet, particularly as there's quite a lot of choice for girls). I know a number of boys who had 12+ call backs and were successful at that point. It's a tough call having to wait another year for any certainty but it's worked out for a number of boys I know of.

Pb2016 · 28/01/2016 11:10

No rgs post here so far, but still dreading the walk to the mailbox. Friend received their "no" only this am, gutted, but it must only have been delayed as it seems it was posted Monday, no reason to believe it was from another "batch". Feeling more optimistic by the day. Also know of a few successful 12+ call backs, there is reason to hope there too!

Cfm2016 · 28/01/2016 11:50

Oh gosh pb that's tough for your friend. Just when we're starting to feel we can relax too! I'm relieved to say that our post has been with no letter from RGS still and an offer from our other school.

hhmum123 · 28/01/2016 11:58

Same here Cfm2016. That's horrible only getting letter today and makes me more nervous knowing some post is delayed. Was feeling more hopeful having had two bits of local post yesterday and today both posted the previous day but you never know!

chickindude · 28/01/2016 12:53

Still nothing here.
Do you think I should email them or phone?

hhmum123 · 28/01/2016 13:08

It's a tough one that. I tried to phone before I sent the email but just got voicemail all the time so I would imagine there are so many calls that they screen them and get back to people accordingly. I didn't have the bottle to leave a message. I'm not sure if they are able to tell you if you are in as I guess they would then be swamped with calls.

Cfm2016 · 28/01/2016 13:29

I agree with hhmum. I don't think they'd tell anyone who calls or everyone would then be trying! Unfortunately I think we just have to,wait....

chickindude · 28/01/2016 13:33

Yes, you are probably right.
I might just have to my DH to do it though.
Will let you know
This is such a stupid system!

Princesitalinda · 28/01/2016 13:34

After reading about your friend receiving a 'no' this morning, i felt apprehensive about coming home to my post today. I feel a bit relieved that we received no post from RGS today. I'm sorry about your friend Pb2016... I guess we just can't celebrate until the 'yes' letter arrives. Congratulations on your other offer Cfm2016, it's great to have some good news with you to alleviate all this anxiety. We are still awaiting news from our other school, I guess it'll be tomorrow or Saturday, as they promised before End of January.

maniami · 28/01/2016 13:41

Post has just arrived, none from RGS, fingers crossed.

Pb2016 · 28/01/2016 14:27

Yes, a no today was a bit of a shocker. But again, posted Monday, so it must be a very unlucky one off. Or so I chose to believe! I'll feel better when I have a hard copy offer in my hands. Fingers crossed!

Minem33 · 28/01/2016 14:35

Nothing for us from RGS today either. Still hoping that "no news is good news". I have heard of another no (11+) apparently received on Monday.

pipnzip · 28/01/2016 16:55

Great to hear of your DS's success with his other offer (star), Cfm2016 - congratulations! How lovely to have one in the bag. As Princesitalinda says, it's a good way to alleviate our collective anxiety. No news, surely, has to be good news now for those who have heard nothing at all... The odds of any more having been delayed in the post recedes with every day that passes (smile)(cake)

pipnzip · 28/01/2016 16:56

I've not mastered this emoticon lark, clearly... (-;

Good morning, our post arrives around 1 pm normally, but I already know there will be a letter from our other school with a lovely offer. Such a relief! This morning when dropping DS at school, the head teacher told us she received a call yesterday and she was told that our DS was in the top 25% and he will have an offer in the post today. I can't stop smiling... after all the stress. Obviously I am waiting for RGS results, but this news has made my day. This offer is for a great school too, so if we receive an offer from RGS we will have to make a decision, but that would be a lovely problem to have:) Have a great day everyone, its friday!

hhmum123 · 29/01/2016 09:03

That's fantastic news. Well done!Smile

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 09:06

That's great news! I was like that yesterday with our other offer! And am so much more relaxed today though RGS is still very much first choice for us.

pipnzip · 29/01/2016 09:26

That's great to hear - congratulations, Princesitalinda Flowers

Minem33 · 29/01/2016 09:51

Congratulations Princesitalinda, Great news! Our post has been and still nothing from RGS. Do you think we allow ourselves feeling a little hopeful?

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 10:45

Our post has also just been and nothing from RGS. I'm not cracking the champagne open just yet (don't want to tempt fate!!) but surely we must be safe now??

hhmum123 · 29/01/2016 11:02

Nothing here either! Do you think our headteachers know?

sazzy5 · 29/01/2016 11:09

Your schools know so if you have a nice head they might tell you all no letters are out. I got the nod last year when we were going through this. RGS is a fantastic school but this process is horrible well done for surviving!

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 11:17

Do all the schools really know? Even state primaries?
