I am disappointed that there has not been a thread this year but so am stopping 'lurking'. Not want to give any specifics as maybe there is an extra exam day although this doesnt seem to be published anywhere but did anyone on Saturday ask how many Year 7 possible boys there were, as it is hard to tell who is for which year? It is pointless to ask 1 suppose as the boys are so differnet and with multiple choice method it's impossibel for boys to to know for certian anyway but the 'verdict' was Maths and English OK but the VR hard. I think January will seem a very long month.

I just heard that 7 other boys from our school had their no letters.

hhmum123 · 29/01/2016 11:45

OMG! Did they arrive today?

Minem33 · 29/01/2016 12:00

Yesterday

hhmum123 · 29/01/2016 12:03

So it seems there are postal delays with some of the letters. Just when we thought we could relax!

Minem33 · 29/01/2016 12:12

I don't know it seems to me that they were not all sent together. Such a brutal process.

Sassy56 · 29/01/2016 12:35

I never dared ask but I think the heads are allowed to word it so that you know without them actually saying!!! If that makes sense!!

Minem33 · 29/01/2016 14:20

Thanks Sassy. Are headteachers notified of both rejections and offers?

Minem33 · 29/01/2016 14:33

Does anyone positively remember Dr. Cox saying all straight no's would be sent out by end of January? All this guessing would be almost funny if it wasn't so painful!

hhmum123 · 29/01/2016 15:16

Have to confess I don't positively remember but it does say it in their admissions supplement and the email I had saying they had all been sent out in one single batch was from KS herself in admissions.

Princesitalinda · 29/01/2016 15:25

Post has been and the offer I mentioned before was there. Also no post from RGS. Although there was a letter addressed directly to my DS, I could not wait and opened it in case it was from RGS, but it was dental appointment. As you say, it would be funny if it wasn't so stressful!

Countingmychickens · 29/01/2016 15:47

Seems I am late to this party. Just found this chat whilst trying to obtain any information about the rgs. We are awaiting information, having heard nothing. We know of one boy who had an interview last week and no one else. I have just read through the whole thread and it seems my anxiety is shared by you all. I remember the head stating that the no letters would be out 'by the end of January' which I guess means tomorrow. I am hoping that this is good news for all us 'heard nothings' but am not counting my chickens just yet ,! Good luck everyone, we deserve a medal after this emotional rollercoaster

Sassy56 · 29/01/2016 15:54

As far as I know (and sort of guessing!) the schools are informed very soon after the exam. I remember looking out for any sign that they new, but it's all closely guarded. So stressful. The worst situation is for those interviewed and those who opt for 13 and haven't heard!

Sassy56 · 29/01/2016 15:54

Typo - 'knew' not 'new'!

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 16:12

Rejections were all sent first class on Monday. Could it be second interview nos that are arriving separately? And yes dr cox definitely said by end of Jan. Either that or someone in the school post room is having a laugh and mailing them in batches when they've supposedly all gone....

Bin85 · 29/01/2016 16:19

Sounds like Royal Mail is getting worse.
I seem to get post most days although the time varies wildly but there is an area near me where the residents complain (on local Facebook site) of repeatedly having no post for days and then a big batch.
Perhaps e mail is the way to go these days?

63summer · 29/01/2016 16:28

I have been told today that the letters are definitely in two batches this year (11+ and 13+ rejections). So I expect the 13+ ones will be received today / tomorrow

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 16:50

There were reports of 13+ nos on Tuesday as well though?

63summer · 29/01/2016 16:55

I know but the teacher said he knew for sure that there were two batches this year. That does make sense given there appear to be very few nos so far.

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 16:57

But admssions at RGS confirmed they were all sent in one batch on Monday. Which is why I wonder if maybe straight nos went on .monday and now it's interview nos??

63summer · 29/01/2016 17:00

I think RGS were referring to 11+ and meant that those had all been sent in one batch.

chickindude · 29/01/2016 17:01

Still nothing, the wait goes on

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 17:20

No because some 13+'were received on Tuesday too....

63summer · 29/01/2016 17:32

I have no idea if the two batches were split like that but school confirmed that they knew of no 13+ rejections yet. There's no way everyone will get in so clearly there are some still to come

hopeful2016985 · 29/01/2016 17:45

Remember that for 13+ there will be several people who receive the "come back and try again at 12+" letter, so that may be why you haven't heard of any outright rejections.

Cfm2016 · 29/01/2016 17:46

Well we're 11+ so hoping they were all sent on Monday! Clearly can't relax yet though!!
