I am disappointed that there has not been a thread this year but so am stopping 'lurking'. Not want to give any specifics as maybe there is an extra exam day although this doesnt seem to be published anywhere but did anyone on Saturday ask how many Year 7 possible boys there were, as it is hard to tell who is for which year? It is pointless to ask 1 suppose as the boys are so differnet and with multiple choice method it's impossibel for boys to to know for certian anyway but the 'verdict' was Maths and English OK but the VR hard. I think January will seem a very long month.

Yes indeed. Thank you for sharing. Rather blows the theory about everything come out in one go. Good luck with your other applications.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 09:54

Surreymum. So sorry to hear. Good luck with the other exams. Was your son second interview at RGS?

hopeful2016985 · 26/01/2016 10:03

Thank you so much for sharing that Surrey mum and all the best for the other exam results.

ShannonB · 26/01/2016 10:28

So sorry to hear that surreymum2016 but I'm sure that many on here will be grateful to know first hand about such letters. Good luck to your son in his next exam and I hope he's happy wherever he ends up.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 10:33

Postman just walked straight past. I can breathe again for today. What a horrible process!!

sfellis · 26/01/2016 11:07

Just thought I'd also let you all know. My ds was 11+ and we have had no letters received up until now. Sadly the NO letter arrived this morning. Thank you for keep me sane for the last few weeks.
Good luck to all

Heli2016 · 26/01/2016 11:28

Dear Surreymum and sfellis, thanks so much for letting us know, I really appreciate it. All best wishes to you and your boys Flowers

hhmum123 · 26/01/2016 11:42

Just joining in to share with everyone that I finally plucked up the courage to email and was told they were posted last night in one batch. Lots of luck to everyone.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 11:46

Oh gosh sfellis I'm sorry to hear that. But really appreciate you letting us all know. Why oh why do the school have to make it so awful? And why suddenly change to sending the straight nos out in batches this year!! They must have known for a while who those boys are.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 11:48

Thanks hhmum! I don't suppose you know if first or second class? So there will probably be more tomorrow knowing the post. Aargh!

sfellis · 26/01/2016 11:52

First class

cmjmama · 26/01/2016 12:11

No received here this morning too so they are coming out in batches. Good luck everyone.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 12:11

Thanks sfellis

Mews1 · 26/01/2016 12:25

The no letter arrived today.

maman2016 · 26/01/2016 12:30

It is a NO for us too. For those of you who are successful, congratulations it is a fantastic school. For the rest of the NO's good luck to you and your boys and THANK YOU!

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 12:37

I am genuinely sorry to hear of so many nos this morning after a roller coaster few weeks. I am very suspicious that our (very unreliable!) postman didn't deliver anything at all here this morning so am thinking our no will be tomorrow. You've all been a fantastic support - thank you!

hhmum123 · 26/01/2016 12:49

It's so stressful, especially given they obviously sent out the 13+ nos first this year and got everyone hopes up. Sorry to hear of the no letters received today. I am sure there will be a lot more of us in that position tomorrow!

maniami · 26/01/2016 13:25

Our post always arrives late so heres to waiting...
Sorry to hear so many No's, but thank you for confirming this. Good luck to all your boys and I hope they get their next choice of school.

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 13:28

Is that how they've done it then - 13+ first then 11? Which I suppose does makes sense but I'm pretty certain a change from previous years.

tillyho · 26/01/2016 13:32

To all who receive a no. I know some really bright/talented boys who didn't get in last year. They are excelling at other schools and have never looked back.

Wine Take a day off dry January.

Dadrah · 26/01/2016 13:42

cfm2016 - while I would love that to be true (being the parent of a 13+ applicant who hasn't had a letter but who left before the post arrived today!!) I don't think it is. I have heard of 11+ nos received on Friday or Saturday. It therefore seems more random this year - could be alphabetical by surname - who knows!

Cfm2016 · 26/01/2016 14:04

All this speculation!! Maybe by school - Hampton sent out in school batches from what I've heard??

hhmum123 · 26/01/2016 14:21

It's very strange. In my email I wrote that my ds had sat for 11+ entrance and that I had heard on the grapevine that the no letters were posted on Thursday 21st jan and wondered if they could confirm this and whether they were sent on mass. The exact wording of the reply was that the 'no offer' letters were all posted last night and in a single batch. Just be glad when its all over!

Princesitalinda · 26/01/2016 15:50

We did not have any post today...
Sorry to hear disappointing letters arrived today. Best of lucks to the boys who are having further exams. We have had our two exams.By the end of this week we should know about the other school at least... anxiety levels go to the roof, it is time to have that evening glass.... Thank you to everybody for the support in this group. It makes it much more bearable.

Ruby4 · 26/01/2016 16:34

It really doesn't make sense as my teacher friend works at a school that finishes in Y6 and so all the boys who got 'no's' on Fri/Sat were sitting for 11 plus.....I agree...a simpler system would be kinder for all. xx
