Littleham, if you haven't already, I would phone the school & speak to the exams officer so they are forewarned.
Is there any possibility of your dc staying with someone who lives closer to the school the night before?

Littleham · 11/05/2015 18:10

Thanks. It wasn't too bad today. The people working on the road let me through so I think it will be fine.

How is everyone doing? One exam this week which dd doesn't really have to do as her mark last year was really good, but she is being a perfectionist.

Dd1 had an exam today - she took up AS Latin in September, so had one today and the other next Monday. It doesn't form part of her offers though, so she's not worried about it. Just did it to show her enthusiasm, and keep her hand in as she will (hopefully) have to do lots of Latin at university. She's off now for the week.

My dd is re-sitting a maths AS paper on Weds. Not entirely sure why as she got on ok last year! Then nothing till after half term

circular · 11/05/2015 21:28

Glad journey better than you feared Littleham.
DD already on study leave, managed 5 hours during the day. Planned to do more in the evening, but went for an early night instead.
First exams next week - Maths & Physics AS resits. Then nothing till w/c 8 June.
Hope it is going well for everyone.

I'm impressed with the 5 hours too mumslife. Hope it continues.
Seems to have undergone a bit of a personality transplant, helped DD2 with homework too.
So far two 18 parties (we know of) during exams, could be worse.
Hope the history goes well for your DD.

muffinmonster · 12/05/2015 08:18

Glad the journey turned out OK, Littleham. DD on study leave here, too. She is resitting Maths C1 tomorrow. She is aiming to study for six hours a day, which I think she managed yesterday. She has really upped her game this year. I hope it pays off.

circular · 12/05/2015 10:20

Good luck ro your DD for C1 Muffinmonster.
Is C1 the only maths paper she's resitting?
DD has opted for C2 only.

muffinmonster · 12/05/2015 13:54

circular yes, just C1 for Maths, and also one Biology and one Physics paper (mechanics).

Littleham · 12/05/2015 19:06

The accommodation I saw at York (the new campus) was really lovely. Didn't see anywhere else though.

Good Luck Mumslife's DD! Smile

circular · 12/05/2015 21:15

Know the feeling mumslife. DD did 2 maths C2 past papers today, nearly full marks on both.
Good luck to everyone with papers tomorrow.

hellsbells99 · 13/05/2015 09:19

DD1 came home yesterday to say a friend had got a last minute offer for medicine. Their group are so happy for him that it has given them all a boost as he was the only one with no offers. Fingers crossed for the exams going well now!
DD2 is sitting C1 today. DD1 has her first resit next week so is still in school.

Littleham · 13/05/2015 09:30

Good luck for those with exams today. Hope C1 goes well hellsbells.

Good Luck to all doing exams today.

drumKitten · 13/05/2015 11:54

HellsBells that's amazing that you DS's friend got a last minute offer - can you imagine how excited he must have been? One of DSs friends didn't get any medicine offers until over a week after the a level results came out. I don't think it happens very often though.

hellsbells99 · 13/05/2015 12:00

drumKitten - I think they were all excited for him!

AmazingDisgrace · 13/05/2015 15:39

First exam tomorrow for DD a Philosophy resit.. DS in the midst of 28(!) GCSE exam papers so the stress levels across the kitchen table are palpable. I'm keeping out the way with large vodkas and tonic and throwing biscuits in their general direction from time to time

NiceCardigan · 13/05/2015 16:44

Sounds very stressful AmazingDisgrace.

Good luck to those with exams this week.
