Exactly the same here Amazing. Torture isn't it?

DD2's kick off on Friday. She seems ok about that one so I can devote attention to stressed younger sister. I filled up the freezer with ice creams so we are officially the least healthy household in the land.

It is mumslife Wink Hey ho, gotta keep on keeping on though!
My DH is being a star, he's been helping DS1 with Maths revision and DS2 with Chemistry. He's on holiday so can take to school or collect them when needed, which is a big help.
Both DC are revising hard, it feels serious all of a sudden...
I'm trying to Keep Calm Smile

AmazingDisgrace · 13/05/2015 23:50

Aye you're on the GCSE thread too I saw Littleham I may be having a small V&T (It may be not be my first tonight) DD thinks she has a theory. This year is apparently the end of the cycle of exam board exams. They all have to pitch to the schools again for next year (according to her, take nothing from this) She has worked out what big mark question has never come up on Philosophy in this cycle but because they have to cover the whole spec over the cycle it must come up tomorrow.

She's either a genius, deluded or mad Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 13/05/2015 23:56

..and yes horsemad it is indeed torture. We have had a meltdown from DS1 over DS2's alarm clock going off at 7am when DS1 doesn't have an exam until 2pm. Apparently 7:30am is acceptable although DS2 needs to leave at 8am
DS1 "He gets ready in 5mins then watches bloody BBC News for half an hour and eats his cereal loudly and you wouldn't ever let me watch TV before school at his age"
Me"You wanted to watch Power Rangers"
DS1: look of absolute outrage that I consider watching the news ok

Oh DH and I retreated to our bedroom shaking with laughter at the ridiculousness Grin

Horsemad · 14/05/2015 16:22

I take back what I said about DH - he's a PITA Hmm

Anyway, DS1 did a Maths resit today and said it went very well. Let's hope so! Smile

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 17:33

DD thinks her Philosophy resit went well too Wine all round

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 18:37

So, she was one of 5 upper sixths just resitting unit 1 the rest were either resitting 1+2 or were lower sixths sitting both. She and the other 4 were allowed to leave after there paper was finished but asked to be very quiet and not scrape their chairs etc

Any other 18yr old could probably manage this. Not my oaf of a girl. She manages the chair bit then trips up, barrels into the chair she's just silently put back then in an attempt to right herself falls over the table Confused

This is the girl who has never successfully managed the stairs at home without tripping up them and who has to stare at the ground when walking so she doesn't fall over Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 18:37

their* can I blame autocorrect Wink

AtiaoftheJulii · 14/05/2015 19:10

Lol, that's made me really laugh! Fortunately I'm currently alone!

Horsemad · 14/05/2015 19:16

Grin Amazing!!

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 20:14

Grin luckily the rest were waiting for the second "turn over you papers"

Littleham · 15/05/2015 13:41

DD2 currently re-taking Geography AS. I honestly don't know why as she got an A the last time but she was quite nervous going in - adrenaline, the full works. She is my perfectionist one.

DD's last day at school today - pizzas at lunchtime and then leavers assembly......and then all going on a pub crawl I believe! She was very emotional last night and says she cannot believe she is leaving after 7 years. She has made some lovely friends, loves most of her teachers and has particularly enjoyed 6th form. I don't remember having the same feelings when I left school Wink

So we have the letter about the plans for next Friday's final day at school. Parents are invited to the leavers mass (Catholic school!) and I fear that might involve some sniveling from me so will have to sit right at the back. I can't believe it no more school ever.

hellsbells99 · 15/05/2015 19:26

Mumslife - DD was making cakes on Wednesday night for the maths party yesterday. I haven't heard from her since since this morning so I am assuming they are all okay. Hope your DD enjoys next week. DD has her first exam next week which is a resit.

All getting a bit emotional here, too. Dd finished next Wednesday and she is in the midst of 5 days of dressing-up to celebrate! They have a different theme each day for the last 5 days - today she went as Mary Poppins Grin On Wednesday they have a final assembly when they all go up on stage and shake hands with the head and get a book. The teachers have a sweepstake on how many will be crying when they come off the stage! It is a girls school so if the last 7 years are anything to go by it will be mass hysteria.

She has been so happy at the school and she is most put out that she won't be able to just go there whenever she feels like it. I am feeling quite tearful myself!

MrsBartlet · 15/05/2015 20:00

finishes next Wednesday!

DS is being very laid back about leaving - he is definitely ready to move on though. It's me that's panicking!
