I think you're right circular! Grin

Circular, this is exactly my DD! She went into college today for extra Philosophy revision with her teacher. I really feel for him, dept lost a good teacher as did a related subject and those left had to cover the extra classes. I think I need to buy this teacher a bottle of something for all the extra time he has given to DD to try and ensure her A .

She's pretty much assuming she can't pull another subject up enough and is guaranteed her needed grade in the 3rd subject (barring a disaster) so needs an A in Philosophy to meet her firm offer. Philosophy has always been her strongest subject one that she pretty much gets A grades all the way through. If anyone else has younger DC and they get the chance to do AS Critical Thinking early, alongside GCSEs, if they are thinking about Philosophy A Level then encourage them, DD found it invaluable.

Congrats to ?Mumslife DD passing her driving test - nothing like adding to the general exam pressure.

So DD has been working steadily over the past few weeks but today the nerves are beginning to start. She starts A2s next Monday with 3 papers (all essay/long question type) on one day, so two sets of 'exam jail' as she describes it! She has a limited time between papers so we will be discussing what food/snacks she wants to take to see her through the day. Only saving grace is she has a break then until the Friday to give her hand a rest.

Littleham · 02/06/2015 12:04

Congrats to Muffin's dd on the driving test. My dd's is on Tuesday!

Love the exam jail terminology. Grin

I'm hoping the weather improves as it rains in the exam hall during wet weather (roof leak / windows don't shut). Do you think they would allow those little umbrella hats into exams?

Apologies - Muffinsmonster's DD!

muffinmonster · 02/06/2015 13:19

Thanks, all. Exams tomorrow, Thursday and Friday (one each day), then three next week and three the week after. Thursday 18th is the light at the end of the tunnel.

I find myself obsessively revisiting uni-related websites, as if I could Google her future. Confused

circular · 02/06/2015 17:56

That's a lot of exams Muffinmonster.
4 next week and 2 week after here.

Looked in on DD last night, contents of desk had gravitated to bed and just pushed to one side so she could sleep lol.

Well done Muffin's DD!
DD1 retook a chemistry AS paper today which went well. Tomorrow is maths M1 paper.

Mindgone · 02/06/2015 22:47

DS starts tomorrow with maths M1 too. Best of luck to your DD Hellsbells, let's hope they rock it! :D

Horsemad · 02/06/2015 23:01

I've done that before mumslife, Blush convinced myself that DS2 was doing German GCSE - he dropped it when he chose his Options!!

hellsbells99 · 02/06/2015 23:31

DD has just decided tomorrow's M1 paper is not going to go well Sad

Yes, good luck with M1, hope it's a good one.

MrsBartlet · 03/06/2015 06:04

Good luck to all those dc who have started this week!

circular · 03/06/2015 08:29

Good luck to everyone with exams this week.
DD has M1 to look forward to NEXT week.
(Seriously hoping its a different exam board thing rather than her mis-reading timetable)

hellsbells99 · 03/06/2015 10:04

Circular - DD is doing Edexcel M1 today. I would assume yours is a different board!

Horsemad · 03/06/2015 11:10

DS revising for Maths on Fri. Just back from having his 2nd rabies jab. Soon be time for hols!

hellsbells99 · 03/06/2015 11:39

DD and her friend have just arrived back after M1 and both though it went ok. Better than last year's paper was the verdict.

circular · 03/06/2015 12:52

Glad M1 went OK Hellsbells
DD doing OCR - should have more faith in her.

Mindgone · 03/06/2015 13:43

Hellsbells, DS thought it was ok too! Phew! 1 down, 6 to go!

hellsbells99 · 03/06/2015 13:51

6 to go here too Mindgone. Glad your DS found it okay too

muffinmonster · 03/06/2015 14:09

DD found today's M1 hard. I am drawing no conclusions from that.

Mindgone · 03/06/2015 14:30

Hellsbells, we probably have the same 6 to go! DS is also doing OCR biology and AQA chemistry.
