I thought I would start this tradition once again while we all wait? DS only sat Trinity...

Brown don't be many boys were asked questions on weaker subjects some reading, mental maths I guess the boys weaker tests subjects and my ds was nervous to think they should be used to it

hardboiled · 31/01/2013 20:53

Brown, you had me intrigued with the "irreverent" piece of work! I don't see how you could've said too much, the school encourages parents to ask any questions and express any doubts.

Thanks so much burnt!

Brownsugar3879 · 31/01/2013 21:01

Hardboiled, lol. You know when you just can't help yourself thinking, maybe I should have just closed my mouth!
Kylep, I guess you are right. I'll def be following this thread including all the other anxious parents here.
Will be calming myself down with Wine & just hope I won't be in an "AA" meeting after all this dilemma. If unlucky this time, we gonna have to go though it all again starting September!,,,,

Kylep · 31/01/2013 21:05

Brown -- I know but the thought of doing this all again scares me did he sit T as well my ds sat both for 10+

Bedgers · 31/01/2013 21:12

Trashpack, sorry been busy at work so havent caught up on thread - wow so many more postings. We still havent heard and I find it so frustrating. At least the other schools he sat for either interviewed him on the day or have seen him since and will let us know on the 14th - this is the only school where we are in such limbo. My added problem is that I book DS for one of their sports camp during the half term ie w/c 18th Feb. Feel if we get a rejection letter on 14th will be like rubbing salt into wounds if he attends following week - enjoy the school you arent going to. Should I cancel? At least let someone else have a chance of taking up the place. Dont know what I was thinking when I booked him on in!

Somelikeithott · 31/01/2013 21:19

Welcome to the thread, Brown. Your AA meeting post made me lol! After all of this there might be a waiting list to join AA in the area.....

Bedgers, don't give up. Fingers crossed for you as well. What a dilemma re sports camp, I would be wondering what to do like you are... Hopefully, your DS will get a place he really likes, be it T or elsewhere and then it won't matter too much. What a palaver all this is....

Brownsugar3879 · 31/01/2013 21:27

Bedgers, let him go & he'll have a good time. He can always try again @ 11+ or 13+. You also have other schools he's been interviewed, so all is not lost really. But if Trinity is the one he really wants to go, then try again! Don't lose heart. I know it's easier said than done. Wink

suz742 · 31/01/2013 21:29

Bedgers I purposely didn't book either sports camp this time, he's been to W and T ones before and enjoyed them. I didn't book for my own sanity more than his, didn't want to listen to other mums chatting if I hadn't got a good outcome.
Kids are pretty resilient though and he might benefit from some light relief with sports.

Brownsugar3879 · 31/01/2013 21:30

kylep yeah, he only sat T for 10+.

Brownsugar3879 · 31/01/2013 21:31

Somelikeithott lol

stresscity · 31/01/2013 22:00

My ds has sat T second time round. He came out quite chipper last year after the interview but it wasn't to be. For those that aren't aware, the pass mark is wooly but around 50% in each subject. Quote from Trinity 'no pass mark as such but we are looking for scores of above 50%'.
Soup soup I know the answer to the size envelope as to whether its a yes or no!! But I won't say unless everyone wants to know. 15 days and counting, here we go again.......
Trash, you've just got to phone them now, we all want to know as we feel your frustration and anguish, you too Bedgers.

Bedgers · 31/01/2013 22:02

Suz742 you were smart. I cant believe I did book him on it - what was I thinking!
Brownsugar3879. It was the 11+for W. If he gets a no, we wont reconsider him. It just wastn meant to be!

Trashpack · 31/01/2013 22:07

Bedgers, there has been a hive of activity on thread!

I feel your annoyance re lack of communication from W....

Wait a little longer to see what the post brings. Perhaps you could phone them and tell them you've booked Sports Course? It's easy for us to feel bitter if we don't get a place, but sadly, the fact is that not everyone who applies will get in. Don't act too hastily - wait until you receive a letter.

Kylep · 31/01/2013 22:08

Stresscity -- u have to tell lol now that's got my mind thinking !!!!!

Trashpack · 31/01/2013 22:11

Sorry Bedgers, posted too quickly - your ds and mine both 11+ and we won't be doing this again. I have adopted a fatalist attitude-whatever will be, will be.

Your ds may really want to do the sports course, why don't you ask him? Kids are so easy to read and if he feels uncomfortable with it, you'll know immediately. Good luck!

stresscity · 31/01/2013 22:15

Only if everyone wants to know, I'll pm you if not Smile

Kylep · 31/01/2013 22:16

Stress city :-)

Trashpack · 31/01/2013 22:18

Thanks stress, that's it - decision made, come on Bedgers, lets phone them at 9am sharp tomorrow morning!! Watch this space Smile

stresscity · 31/01/2013 22:20

That's the spirit ladies!!! Everything crossed from now til 9am!!

Bedgers · 31/01/2013 22:24

Thanks Trashpack. i dont mind him not getting in now. It's just the lack of communication I find annoying. Why is T so much more efficient in letting those that havent got in know within a week. I know the old adage no news is good news, but its hard to know what to say to DS when people keep asking. I think I may just say we havent got it - just get it over with!

I'm starting to sound like a teenager with boy problems! Is W interested in me? why hasnt W called!! Really I need to get a grip on reality.

Bedgers · 31/01/2013 22:26

Trashpack. Deal I'm calling at 9am! Enough if Enough.

Somelikeithott · 31/01/2013 22:28

Go for it trashpack, you deserve to know! Bedgers what do you say?

Bedgers · 31/01/2013 22:29

I say 9am!!
