Have you woken up in the shower recently, Frankie?

Here's a plan : Get completely and utterly pissed tonight, wake up at noon tomorrow to find the post on the doormat. Who's with me?

Ladymuck · 16/02/2012 18:02

I think that I've come to the conclusion that postie isn't coming today.

SoupDragon · 16/02/2012 18:13

LOL - lets hope it is not a sign of things to come :)

frankies69 · 16/02/2012 18:59

Ummmmm Soup he he
I am with you for getting utterly pissed...but don't think the kids will appreciate no cinema in the am... so think I will just wait for the after party with the peacocks, and flamingo stew!!! Grin

Good luck for tomorrow! I hope you all get the news you're hoping for

Ladymuck · 16/02/2012 21:49

Have we discussed significance of envelope size yet? And are you letting ds open it or will you get there first?

SoupDragon · 16/02/2012 21:54

Envelope thickness will certainly be a consideration as an offer includes at least 2 sheets of paper whereas a non-offer will be only one.

Ladymuck · 16/02/2012 22:05

I take it Trinity doesn't send out the spelling list with the offer letter? (Or is that only for Year 6 entry?)

FarmerBarleymow · 16/02/2012 22:34

Spelling list? As much as we are so wanting a big fat envelope from T, I don't wish to start the swotting to start any time soon!

FarmerBarleymow · 16/02/2012 22:54

Rubbish grammar! It's time for bed! Roll on Friday!! Sleep well everyone! ;)

Selina · 16/02/2012 22:58

Hey everyone enjoy the muppets ... Will be lying in until 10 - not sure when post comes ... Can't wait ...Good luck all

kravings · 16/02/2012 23:24

my post only comes once a day - around 10ish. I feel like breaking into my local sorting office to find the envelopes...

nuttynat003 · 17/02/2012 00:03

Well, it's official, today is the day!

kravings · 17/02/2012 00:38

stressederica · 17/02/2012 07:08

Best of luck to everyone today. Once this is all over, you and your DSs deserve a big cuddle together and a hot Brew!
You are all wonderful mums and your DSs have done very well getting this far.
Once the offers start rolling in, anyone wants to know more about the first few months of 'Whitgift Life' before making that all important decision, ask away. My DS was at a state primary before W and is now in Y6. I absolutely love the school and it is the perfect place for my DS. I've never seen him so happy to go to school everyday, especially since he has to get up at 6:15 to catch the school bus!

havinganightmare · 17/02/2012 08:25

Morning all. Considering cornflakes and Chardonnay for brekkie to get me through to 12 ish when rubbish postman may pop by. DH told me not to be "an idiot" and wait around for post - so he may not make it to 12 with a bread knife in his back....! Wink Good luck to everyone this morning - hope some of you had some sleep! X

Seeline · 17/02/2012 08:28

Morning All!!
OK whose postie is due first - mine doesn't normally arrive until 11.30 Shock
Thanks Stressederica - hopefully there will be loads of us with last minute questions for both T and W. I am sure this thread will continue for many a long day yet Grin

Inneedofwine · 17/02/2012 08:30

Hi stressederica

I've been following this thread since last year and have a question for you if you don't mind. My DS is also at a state primary in yr4 and we're thinking about yr6 entry. They have said they won't prepare him in any way for entrance exams so will havr to get a tutor to cover VR etc. Myquestion is how did you find a tutor? Is there a service that is speacilised in entrance exams or are they all much the same? Any guidance would be appreciated.

And GOOD LUCK again to everyone else - hope you've all got hair and finger nails left by the time the postman arrives Smile

frankies69 · 17/02/2012 08:33

@Innedofwine...the bond books for VR and non VR are good, as are the english and maths books. We had a tutor for our DS just once a fortnight 1 hour at a time to help him with the style of exam answers they are looking for, as her DS had also gone to W.

The general feeling I think from what I have read is that tutors aren't really the best idea, that if your DS is bright he should get through! Get some practice papers too from the net, they are useful. My DS is in state primary and they have offered absolutely no help at all!!! Good luck

Aaagh... our post normally comes at 11 am, but only arrived at 3 pm yesterday. I think lots of them are on half-term holiday (how very dare they!) so goodness knows how long the agony has to continue for. I'm off to work so DH will have to haunt the hall. Hope it's good news for all of us.
