Anyone But England

My social media is jam packed with Scots declaring their support for DR Congo/Mexico/Norway/ whoever England are playing next.

I find this obsession with our neighbours weird and cringeworthy.

Do you think Canadians make such an issue of supporting Anyone But USA or the Dutch supporting Anyone But Germany ?

Doubly ironic when players like Scott McTominay and Che Adams are about as Scottish as Morris Dancing.

Why shouldn't the heatwave be reported on? It affected a lot of people. There's 9 million people in Greater London alone.

I hate this. My dad was Irish but escaped his impoverished childhood and limited opportunities to live happily and prosperously in England for 70+ years.

Heatwaves put vulnerable people at risk so they are going to be reported on. There was a Scottish person recently on another thread who said they'd changed their mind about it being annoying after experiencing it. (Attached)

I like English people. I just don't support the England men's football team because I'm Scottish. To me, that's no different from not supporting any other national team. It's football rivalry, not dislike of English people.

I'm English and I'm in the "anyone but England" camp. If I have to hear that bloody song 1 more time I will not be responsible for my actions. The whole thing is ridiculous and the sooner they're out the better.

Does this attitude extend to the women's teams? Specifically football and rugby? I do enjoy when pundits / media people are reminded that the England women have done very well in recent years with team sports. I would certainly support any of the home nations in international competition, but then I'm a hotch-potch of English, Scots and Welsh!
