Red weather warning for tomorrow for wind.
What are you supposed to do when the met office/news is telling you to stay at home but your workplace expects you in?

MiddleAgedDread · 24/01/2025 09:38

Currently got flight radar on watching a flight from Stansted try to get into EDI. It's just done a loop over Peebles, and coming back for another attempt! I wouldn't like to be on board 😨

Wonder if it's being diverted to Manchester like the Glasgow flight earlier?

It's still a threat to life

NotaRealHousewife · 24/01/2025 10:10

South Lanarkshire here, it's pretty wild at the moment

I'm cuddled up with the cat, coffee made and bacon sarnie on the go

MiddleAgedDread · 24/01/2025 10:11

OMG that flight is diverting to Cologne!!

Just came back to say that! Offt! I imagine most of the passengers won't have a passport as it was a domestic flight!

Why comment if you don't?

NessaSmith · 24/01/2025 10:28

Don't feed the troll guys!

I feel sorry for those going to Cologne, especially without a passport as they won't be able to leave the airport.

ReginaaPhalangee · 24/01/2025 10:36

Starting to really pick up here now! Getting a bit more nervous

All fine, couple of idiots on the road but nothing major. 👍

ReginaaPhalangee · 24/01/2025 10:52

Looks like it's going back to Stansted?

@ReginaaPhalangee Ryan air make you fly with passports although don't actually need them if shuffled straight off the plane to airside/departures.

They definitely don't make you use a passport for domestic flights

liveforsummer · 24/01/2025 11:32

Ryan air only accept passport or national ID card so if your British then yes you do. It's been the case for a while now. Not sure when you last flew with them. Most other airlines you can use your drivers licence

CharityShopChic · 24/01/2025 11:34

It appears to have calmed down a lot here in the last 30 minutes (north side of Glasgow), still windy but not as bad as it was at 8am/9am. Fingers crossed the worst of it has passed - still not venturing out to explore whether the crashes I heard were the bins falling over.

Their own website tells you any photo ID that matches the passengers name. Perhaps an error, but that's where I took it from, not personal experience.
