Red weather warning for tomorrow for wind.
What are you supposed to do when the met office/news is telling you to stay at home but your workplace expects you in?

@Loonyluna16 I also work in the construction industry ( office based ) and we are business as normal 😩 partner is also in the field construction industry who is also business as usual- it seems to be the norm in this industry which is pretty frightening.

The sudden apocalyptic siren was a bit much in the circumstances. Its not like we needed to run for our lives at that exact moment as though there was a meteor or nuclear bomb overhead. Ffs my nerves are shot and the storm hasn't even started yet.

We have tickets for the 5pm performance of Rocky Horror Show at the Playhouse tomorrow - no word yet on if it's going ahead...... not that I'll be able to get there anyway as all buses are cancelled 🫣

I am very glad you are closing. My husband is expected to go in and no one seems to be listening to reason - including him. I'm terrified.

I can't sleep, I am so worried. I'm a single parent and own my home, if there is any damage I've no idea what I'd do, we live on the brow of a hill so pretty exposed, there is also a large council and construction depot opposite. I can't sleep, my youngest has ASD/ADHD, i don't know whether to gather them into my room tomorrow (today). Is anyone else worried?

No alert for us, what are they thinking waking everyone up in the small hours? Surely we all got the one in the evening

I'm worried, I've a lot of big trees around me. They cost a fortune to cut down so have only done the worst ones, which I'm grateful for but there are still a couple that make me so nervous

Yes the wind has picked up here on the east coast significantly in the last hour. I have to go to work 🥺 Veterinary practice We are fully booked with urgent cases so no choice. My friend's parents were killed in a storm in Glasgow years ago and I always feel nervous when the wind is this bad.

Dog keeps barking everytime there's a bang or the letterbox swings. Have tried sellotaping down the letterbox but to no avail.

I got a second alert too - just about 8.15pm as I was driving home! Already very wild here in Glasgow and everything appears to be closed, the local Fscebook page last night was just a constant stream of businesses shutting.

Asda was nuts yesterday evening, shelves stripped like the early days of Covid. Hope everyone stays safe. Currently watching a Wizz Air flight trying to land in Glasgow airport, they've already had one go, just lining up for another - those poor passengers. I don't think I'd ever fly again.

Wild here. Been out to the mobile fish van. Reports of Tesco being stripped of supplies last night. It is shut today.
Greggs is shut. ( Electrician at house told me) .
I was soaked walking back. Pretty hard going walking against the wind. It is not at full strength yet either.

Yes - Manchester after two attempts into Glasgow. Those passengers are now 200 miles from where they should be, with no way of getting north. Nightmare.
