It's always sad to see a marriage come to an end, but really this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Will this be the start of an airing of dirty laundry

UnderTheStairs51 · 13/01/2025 11:35

More like 'i didn't know, it was all him' I suspect

I thought exactly the same.

Timetodownsize · 13/01/2025 11:40

Suspect she is preparing to sling him under the bus

Timetodownsize · 13/01/2025 11:40

Perhaps she'll suddenly remember all sorts of things

Tomorrowisanewday · 13/01/2025 11:41

"time to bring others up to speed" - is anyone even remotely surprised by this? I'm just surprised it wasn't earlier

NewYorkherewecome · 13/01/2025 11:53

Arse covering exercise on her part, doesn’t want to be labelled a thief. The woman is a disgrace.

BleeBlahBlue · 13/01/2025 11:59
Surprise Surprise GIF

Hmmm...

BigBoysDontCry · 13/01/2025 11:59

The marriage of convenience is no longer convenient. 🙄

medianewbie · 13/01/2025 12:10

Bus. Under. Not me m'lud.
I really hope this means Branchform is finally going to DO something !!
(although it seems this is prep for St Nic being 'fully exonerated')

Flossflower · 13/01/2025 12:11

Maybe she hopes she can stay out of jail!

SirChenjins · 13/01/2025 12:23

Well, that's a surprise - said no one.

The only speed upping here is the one she's currently doing in the direction of North Korea in the camper in case Murrell decides he's not taking the blame for her anymore and the divorce is about to get nasty.

lovealongbath · 13/01/2025 12:30

Don’t know why they don’t get an annulment as I can’t imagine the marriage as been consummated.

edit, just googled annulment and the marriage has to be less than a year. So that’s ruled out.

So, so true 😁

CharityShopChic · 13/01/2025 13:06

"To all intents and purposes we have been separated for some time now" - that's if you buy into the story that they were ever together in a romantic sense in the first place. Again, Ms Sturgeon ditching the deadweight baggage of a "husband" and preparing for the new phase of her life after the Scottish parliament with a new job, new place to live possibly abroad and a new partner.

I would say it's more surprising that they have lived this lie so long but then I remembered it's Nicola Sturgeon we're talking about. Queen of liars, misremembering, deleted whatsapps etc etc.

Catsolitude · 13/01/2025 13:09

I suspect she’s had the nod that she’s not going to be charged as part of Branchform so now she can start to reinvent herself and Pete can take the fall for it all.

CharityShopChic · 13/01/2025 13:10

First on the list - mini break at a well known Edinburgh hotel near the Bridges and some Nat 5 French lessons?

medianewbie · 13/01/2025 13:31

@CharityShopChic Aye. And some ironing was involved, I heard ? !

This was my thinking too

Scotland is so small surely if the Nat 5 french was true there'd be more info than every taxi driver saying it.

TriangleLight · 13/01/2025 13:58

At least she has a good friend to turn to

Sturgeon and Murrell are to divorce.
SirChenjins · 13/01/2025 14:05

What's the Nat 5 french thing?!

medianewbie · 13/01/2025 14:07

@okright I've certainly heard it in Edinburgh legal circles & from two different friends (one a 75 y/o civil servant, one a younger staff member from the hotel where the fracas occurred). I imagine NS benefitted from her very successful conflation of personal support/support for the SNP being seen as the same as 'support/loyalty/pride in Scotland' for a long time. Plus SNP MSPs were effectively silenced over all manner of things: it was 'built in'.

unmemorableusername · 13/01/2025 14:33

SirChenjins · 13/01/2025 14:05

What's the Nat 5 french thing?!

An ambassador from a country known for their kisses in a hotel with the name of a royal holiday house.

Hedjwitch · 13/01/2025 14:36

Get the popcorn in. Which one is going under the bus?
