Anyone else unsure who to vote for?

Used to be a Labour supporter but they don't stand in my constituency (or when they do, they come 5th or 6th). It's between SNP, Lib Dem and Tories (in that order) here. I physically can't vote for the latter two, however I'm not enthusiastic to vote SNP, despite voting for them previously. Greens aren't standing either. I hate the idea of spoiling my ballot but I genuinely don't know what to do. Anyone else in the same situation (not necessarily stuck between the same parties)?

I am not disagreeing with nuclear disarmament but what should be done n place is a plan to negate the impact the job losses have on the community as to not do so is tantamount to what the Tories did to heavy industry in the 80’s.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 20:55

@titsintiers I know! Total change of menu 🙄

@ResilienceWanker 😂

forfucksakenett · 08/05/2021 20:56

I absolutely agree. I would hope that that would be in place. At this point I have no reason to believe it won't be.

Suffolkpunch345 · 08/05/2021 20:58

@StarryEyeSurprise

If you had an economics degree then you certainly wouldn’t be voting SNP.

Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 21:02

But that’s the point there isn’t a plan and seeing as the closure of faslane is a given, there should not only be a plan but it should be put into place by now.

charliebrown59 · 08/05/2021 21:11

Well quite! Having a 2:1 in economics doesn't make you a macroeconomic expert, or incapable of spouting nonsense stats - perhaps more prone in fact, you never ever cite reputable sources for your economic factoids starry (and guess what kind of 2:1 I have).

RedactedTaeFeck · 08/05/2021 21:11

I'm also a sobrassadda fan - especially on a pizza (while sitting on a quiet menorcan beach)...I'm clearly a philistine, but just to add, our sainsburys stocks it but can't get it in waitrose.

What I'm really looking for is proper italian sausage meat (with fennel) I did get some Italian fennel sausage (in waitrose) but it's firm like chorizo rather than the sausage meat which is more like mince.

We aren't independent. A referendum hasn't even been called.
Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 22:18

No we aren’t but if we are serious about independence then it’s time for serious planning.

We're still in a pandemic. A few years to go until a vote.
Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 22:23

Yes but we are talking about a vote and even before a pandemic talking about a vote. As I’ve said before, tine to ditch the easy, quick wins of tokenism and get serious about independence and that means planning now or even 5 years ago given the so called mandate.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 22:25

It’s a pipe dream, founded in historic rhetoric and not economics or practicalities.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 22:26

I believe Farmison might sell a tasty fennel sausage @RedactedTaeFeck.

StillRailing · 08/05/2021 22:29

A vote is a few years off now is it?

I'd missed that!

Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 22:29

Actually I think I might bail on the economic chat and go onto the Waitrose one but is this open to a central belt interloper?

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 22:34

@Selkiesarereal central belt champagne socialist here. Was excited to move from the back of beyond.

Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 22:40

See I’m also a champagne socialist from remote rural Scotland living in the central belt so still get excited by Waitrose things!

StillRailing · 08/05/2021 22:40

I don't have a Waitrose nearby. I do get excited going to a big Asda though. My excuse is that my usual supermarket is quite small and limited..

titsintiers · 08/05/2021 22:42

I'm an urban champagne socialist. Everything excites me just now that isn't me house or family.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 22:46

Yes! It still amazes me being near actual shops
Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 22:48

I remember my first trip to Asda govan, it was a whole new world of excitement. Not only did it have food and fully stocked regardless of the weather but it also had clothes! It was a whole new world.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 22:54

I do love an asda superstore.

Selkiesarereal · 08/05/2021 23:11

See I don’t think our central belt people realise the joy of an Asda superstore! Love it!

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2021 23:18

So I see the SNP plan worked to get rid of Joan McAlpine.

In favour of the intellectually challenged Emma Harper

StillRailing · 08/05/2021 23:28

Right now a trip to b and m is a day out.
