@ICouldHaveCheckedFirst

Does Jennifer have form, Girl?
Well her bio says:

Free Scotland from the divisive forces of nationalism.

So she may have an angle, let's say Grin

Lockdownbear · 02/03/2021 12:32

Maybe I'm a cynic but I'd guess the real reason SG would like to postpone the election is all to do with the recent polls and the current mess SNP are in.

But then I'm just a cynic.

GirlLovesWorld · 02/03/2021 12:35

Maybe. Time will tell.

But they're still on course to win so I just can't see it.

Maybe their polling tells them otherwise.

But we do need to remember that it's not their choice, they need the agreement of parliament too.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 02/03/2021 12:35

As much as I disagree with the SNP from what I have read this isn't their call. Would they back it because of polls? I think so. There has been no leaks about schools today which is unusual

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/03/2021 12:38

Wax you've chucked your toys out the pram plenty on these threads. Maybe someone else is allowed a turn of getting to the end of their tether too.

And examples? I didn't say someone wasn't allowed to post - and who are you that apparently knows me? Yes, everyone gets to the end of their tether but to base that "end" on one post disagreeing with one thing shows a short tether. Which again is allowed and I'm equally allowed to point it out.

GirlLovesWorld · 02/03/2021 12:41

Yeah, I'm about to spend my afternoon scrolling through old threads for examples of when you've been what I consider to be over the line.

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/03/2021 12:43

We're just not there yet with the number of people vaccinated

But it's not about those vaccinated, there are other people in the community who have levels of immunity from covid 19 infection and others who have natural immunity already. We don't need to get to some huge level of vaccinations, we need to protect the vulnerable, including those with temporary vulnerability because of recent illness etc. including supporting their family to isolate and the rest of need to crack on or not depending on our own assessment of risk.

Monitoring those ill because of covid and those dying because of covid.

Ah ok so that was just an attack out of nowhere from a poster I have no experience of? Okay Hmm

And I don't care whether you consider I've been over the line or thrown my toys out of huffed as that's not breaking the actual rules.

Though I do think specifically following someone around and blaming them for having a different opinion could be considered a personal attack - which is against the rules.

Scottishskifun · 02/03/2021 12:53

Reading back through the different threads people are definitely hitting their limits now.

I never thought I would break the rules yet I go for a outside walk with another couple, my son plays outside with more than one other child at a playground (which means 3 mums) and I'm whole heartedly planning to visit friends and family in England once they are relaxed regardless of rules in Scotland on the unicorn border.

For me giving no light at the end of the tunnel has led to this and I know they don't want to give false hope but they have given no hope!

GirlLovesWorld · 02/03/2021 12:57

Following you around and blaming you Hmm

I responded to your sarky comment to me.

I don't care what you think of me either so let's just call it even.

StarryEyeSurprise · 02/03/2021 12:58

Just jumping on on my break.

So Brazilian variant - school now linked to this in Scotland. They're tracking contacts of contacts.

Anyone else p*ssed that this has happened because the UK Gov refused to quarantine all travellers from abroad as the SG and NI Governments wanted?

I'm sorry you're getting the wrath today @GirlLovesWorld.

🤣 you always raise a laugh. Love how you keep going, regardless of the weather around you. Bless you.
rookiemere · 02/03/2021 13:05

@StarryEyeSurprise I'll maybe care more if I find out this afternoon that my S3 is entitled to any face to face education this side of August.

Since 1) the passengers arrived 5 days before quarantine took effect anywhere and 2) Brazil is a red list country anyway, no, not pissed off the with the UK. You however seem to be tying yourself in knots to be.
WouldBeGood · 02/03/2021 13:06

I personally don’t give a flying fuck about the Brazilian variant.

mibbelucieachwell · 02/03/2021 13:07

Starry I'm p*ssed that neither the Uk nor the SG took much more drastic action 13 months ago. The SG response to the pandemic was almost identical to the UK gov until last summer.

I'm also p*ssed that the SG couldn't get its act together to properly test and protect care home staff and residents.

Is there any modelling of the effects of extended lockdowns? It feels like the SG is trying to reduce covid cases at all costs now.

OldRailer · 02/03/2021 13:07

Yes my teenager barely leaves the house. It's my pressing issue right now.

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/03/2021 13:09

Oh for goodness sake.

So, a poster that I don't know from Adam, takes the huff because I disagree with them on a point. I point this out and am then accused of having done the same many times. I point out that I don't know who the poster is (posting in this name for a week) and asking for evidence of the accusations.

Telling me you are not looking for stuff where I have been over what you consider is over the line

But I'm not supposed to point that out? So, you have clearly been following and noting my transgressions - maybe you should be reporting it instead?

No doubt you'll be along with a big rant about how you are allowed to change your name whenever you want. And i agree with that fact entirely.

I also think it's not really cricket to then use that fact to cast aspersions on others for doing nothing other than disagreeing with something on one post.

rookiemere · 02/03/2021 13:19

Thanks @dancemom . I feel sick in my stomach about what school announcements we'll get this pm. I nearly cried in a meeting I was chairing this morning. Histrionic and peri menopausal I suppose, but I just can't take much more of not knowing that S3 will be back after Easter. If the news is bleak I think I may need to take some time of work to come to terms with it.

dancemom · 02/03/2021 13:21

I'm anxious too @rookiemere dd is S4 so I'm hoping she goes back on a worthwhile basis and not one day a week type thing but I feel for the younger years.

rookiemere · 02/03/2021 13:24

Yes @dancemom at the minute it's a lottery how much in school time they get based on their subjects and also on what area you're in as friends DS is in for quite a few subjects in Livingston but not another friend whose offspring is doing those same subjects in Edinburgh. Depends on school space, I suppose.

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/03/2021 13:24

I think many of us are getting to that point @rookiemere. You probably do need to take some time for yourself. It's really frustrating but you can't worry for everyone. I totally agree the kids need to be in school or at least know when they will be.

But your child will be okay, he's loved and cared for and has your support. It's far from ideal but he's young enough to get past this I'm sure. You can do no more than you are doing, you need to believe that.
