I'm sorry to hear that iwill I wouldn't know what to make of that either - fingers crossed they do get some extra funding.

Lockdownbear · 21/01/2021 11:37

Sorry to hear that, it's horrible when you are left hanging.

anon444877 · 21/01/2021 11:37

Did anyone see this poverty alliance manifesto? Thoughts?

Oh I’m so sorry @Iwillneverbesatisfied that’s a bit of a mixed message for you, so frustrating.

WouldBeGood · 21/01/2021 11:54

How much do you think Ms Surgeon (sic) liked this?

anon444877 · 21/01/2021 11:54

Oooooh 😀

titsbumfannythelot · 21/01/2021 12:02

I wonder how many of those £945k likes were from Scotland @WouldBeGood?

WouldBeGood · 21/01/2021 12:06

😂

I’m thinking it’s a joke..?

Unfortunately, it's fake news.
titsbumfannythelot · 21/01/2021 12:11

Boo

RaspberryCoulis · 21/01/2021 12:16

7% positivity - that's down a LOT.

WouldBeGood · 21/01/2021 12:19

Yes, but funny

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/01/2021 12:20

Depends how many tests as well, if they are doing extra testing of people with no symptoms then they are less likely to show positive. These figures are really not worth anything. Positive cases up yesterday but did a lot of extra testing.

He really is so terrible at public speaking. Why is he on and not NS today?

TeenTraumaTrials · 21/01/2021 12:28

If the positivity rate continues along the same level for a week that's only 2% away from 'under control' by WHO definitions. The 7 day average cases line on Travelling Tabby is showing a sharp decline. Surely some sort of relaxation must be on the cards if that continues - no way she can hold off another 2 months until Easter. I'd give anything right now to be able to have just one friend in the house for the DCs (and for me).

She's having a day off... probably getting her hair done or something. I am no fan of the woman but she is allowed a wee break now and again.

Swinney is drone drone drone drone snooze.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 21/01/2021 12:34

@RaspberryCoulis no I know 😂 I actually think she should take more time off it's not healthy for anyone to continue to work at that level what I meant was is there something else going on? Unusual for her not to do the briefing midweek.

I really hope this positivity rate stays down 🤞

TheMShip · 21/01/2021 12:37

The tiering metrics (cases per 100k, positivity rate, hospital and ICU capacity, R estimate (I think that was the fifth one? can't recall) will all be taken into account, plus I would hope contact tracing performance - e.g. reaching X% of close contacts within 24 hours of a positive test. If that is good enough it should help keep R down, and it's also something that can be helped by better government support, both structural and monetary.

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/01/2021 12:42

The case by 100k and % positivity can be so easily manipulated by the numbers being tested that they are meaningless and the tier criteria were ignored the last time anyway so I 'm not sure it will go back to that anyway. I think it will be whatever Nicola decides.

LetItGoGo · 21/01/2021 12:54

Good news!

I've heard of a couple of relatives getting done today and tomorrow and it's cheered is all up.

WouldBeGood · 21/01/2021 12:54

Yes, it’s very cheering, is it it?

Lockdownbear · 21/01/2021 13:01

The 92 yo father of a aquantence of my mum is today too. No real clue who he is but its just great to hear folk are getting stabbed Smile

I hope they get the over 70s done asap.

Dinnafashyersel · 21/01/2021 13:02

This is an interesting article. The BBC openly starting to report lockdown actually increasing rather than relieving hospital pressure. ie delay treatment for 10 months and everyone starts to concertina and arrive at hospital all at once and sicker. Not good when it is on top of what looks to be a new "winter" seasonal virus.

My very exciting news is that I have made a life changing purchase - one of those wee lap cushion tray things for your laptop so it's raised up a bit and kept off your knees. It's so much better and I have no idea why I didn't buy one sooner.
