@WouldBeGood

Oh lord, *@WaxOnFeckOff*

My procedure is the following Monday and no such instructions - long may it remain so

I'd imagine you'll have to do the same. Friend who had surgery before Christmas had to do it also.

Good news about Mr G .

I've read the Scotsman article properly now - typical headline grabbing exaggeration. Apparently Jason Leitch recommended that nobody book non cancellable abroad holidays - which I guess is sensible enough- but it may be more likely that autumn was possible.

Worryingly he also said that they'd be lifting lockdown restrictions really slowly as what they've learned is that they go down slowly and go up quickly. So nothing learnt from our mostly wasted summer of 2020 then, and probably more of the same for this summer.

WouldBeGood · 20/01/2021 20:37

Glad he got home @Groovee, sending good vibes.

WouldBeGood · 20/01/2021 20:40

Mine is not exactly surgery, being done inns outpatient clinic, as the doctor felt sorry for me 😂

Fingers crossed they don’t stop these

DH is a colonoscopy, his previous MRI and CT scans were done with no test or isolation.

I hope it goes well @WaxOnFeckOff

WaxOnFeckOff · 20/01/2021 21:02

he's fairly sure it's fine. They saw a narrowing of the bowel but it could just be that it was contracting or something but as a tumour can be the cause of a DVT which was the original issue, they want to check.

WouldBeGood · 20/01/2021 21:04

Good to get it checked.

I eventually got nasties ruled out so just this thing to go

Lockdownbear · 20/01/2021 21:10

Good news on MrG
Hope Mr & Mrs Waxon both do ok.

I think they need to ease restrictions quickly in summer or people will ignore and loose all respect. People's MH can't cope with much more isolation, not seeing friends and family. Businesses really need a decent turn of business.

The abroad thing I kind of understand both on a risk of other countries not being as far ahead with vaccines and the risk of other strains being brought into the UK.

Can't remember the English MP who didn't say don't book abroad but said 'I'm going to Cornwall' in reply to a question on holidays.
So they are kind of singing from the same hymn sheet.

WouldBeGood · 20/01/2021 21:16

DP has a degenerative condition so this was supposed to be our time to travel before it’s too late.

Feeling pretty sad about that

WaxOnFeckOff · 20/01/2021 21:34

I'm perfectly fine @lochdown, thank you for your wishes though Smile

That's a real shame @WouldBeGood, hopefully we'll not have to wait quite as long as another 18 months before we can get out and about.

You know that thing where we can suggest names for the gritters?

Someone submitted "Margrit Ferrier Super Spreader" 🤣

Lockdownbear · 20/01/2021 23:36

Oh God, I could hardly tell DH for laughing

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 21/01/2021 06:49

That's brilliant ha ha ha

Groovee · 21/01/2021 08:13

Mr G is still channelling his inner minon. He's to drink lots of water. He's slept a whole night with no buzzers going off and we collided a few times in the night after getting used to being on our own.

He's also signed off work for the time being to become pink again and rest.

The snow is a slushy mess.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 21/01/2021 08:42

got to make an essential journey today (honest) down to south ayrshire. What's the weather like there - anyone know?

Glad he got a good night's rest. It makes dealing with things much more bearable.
WaxOnFeckOff · 21/01/2021 09:24

No idea on the weather/roads I'm afraid.

Glad to hear a good sleep was had, hospitals are not great places to get rest.

Dream job got back to me. Its not a no but its a "if we get more funding to recruit you will be top of the list". So I'm a bit Confused as to whether I am still in with a chance or they are just to polite to say 'no'.

WouldBeGood · 21/01/2021 11:19

Oh, @Iwillneverbesatisfied that’s frustrating.
