@WouldBeGood

Just because people testing positive have been in a supermarket does NOT mean they caught it there.

No lockdown measures will really make any difference now. See the rise when we’ve been locked up for months here.

Didn't say they did its just the numbers of where positive cases have been, the highest number is supermarkets and has been for a long time as said due to the nature that people have to get shopping and often do so. Track and trace is done 3 days prior to a positive test most people do a weekly shop. It's completely expected.

There are people who have contracted from supermarkets but there is a massive list of suspected where people have contracted it from. Most common factor of all is inside.

Lockdownbear · 14/01/2021 00:50

Yes a fair chunk of people will have visited a supermarket of some description in the 3 days prior to testing.

Assume that they are including Little Tesco's (l know that's not their correct name) and co-ops that double as local paper shops and possibly some petrol station shops as 'supermarkets'.

Let's be honest people are hardly going to confess if they've been in touch with loads of people. Partly it because it makes them bad, and partly it means the friend will have to SI and potentially cost them money in lost earnings.

SI needs to be paid at the same rate as furlough and take into account 0 hour contacts.

Snow! Finally! DD can stop moaning now as she can go out to play and sledge (nearly 13 but still a big kid).

runningpink · 14/01/2021 06:33

Snow here again.

I have a few fun activities for your wee ones on the snow for a change from
Snowmen/sledging if anyone looking for ideas?

on the plus side my new snow boots should arrive today. Yay!

I’m trying not to think about the latest restrictions too much as I just get angry so trying to focus my attention on achieving some stuff.

Hope everyone has a good day and just think your over halfway with week 1 of homeschooling so well done!

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/01/2021 07:42

Not a flake here. We've had very little which dd is not impressed with

Groovee · 14/01/2021 08:01

It's just wet where I am in Edinburgh.

titsbumfannythelot · 14/01/2021 08:01

Snow here too which will help the kids get some fresh air and burn off some energy

anon444877 · 14/01/2021 08:14

grovee it occurred to me that it's Thursday today and only 2 days of homeschool left! On the other hand, massively behind on work I'm supposed to have achieved this week...

shouldistop · 14/01/2021 08:19

Lots of snow here. Will be sticking the baby in a sling and getting 4yo out on his sledge.

titsbumfannythelot · 14/01/2021 08:25

Just saw these vaccination stats on travelling tabby, thought they might be of interest

Titsbum
Yip SG making an arse of it. Lagging behind the other nation's. NI seem to have got their finger out and banging vaccines into folk.

I do wonder where he's getting his info and why this stuff isn't easy to find on the BBC website.

titsbumfannythelot · 14/01/2021 08:41

I'm sure it said he got it from the phs Scotland reporting. Maybe nobody at the bbc has thought to look x

titsbumfannythelot · 14/01/2021 08:42

Ignore the spurious x there, I'm not that sort of mumsnetter

Lockdownbear · 14/01/2021 08:45

Ok so its backed up just a nightmare of a website to navigate!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 14/01/2021 09:02

The Courier has a decent page of vaccination stats

www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/politics/scottish-politics/1877716/covid-vaccine-tracker/

WouldBeGood · 14/01/2021 09:07

Thanks @IncludeWomenInTheSequel that’s a great page.

We need to get cracking

Lockdownbear · 14/01/2021 09:28

Woman in Sequel thanks for that. We are lagging behind and seriously lagging on the second dose of the vaccine.

You'd have thought with an election looming the SG pencil would be a little bit sharper and more focused.

WouldBeGood · 14/01/2021 09:36

Their vaccination plan page appears to have disappeared: I was looking for it to volunteer in an unskilled capacity

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 14/01/2021 09:39

The Courier has been surprisingly good throughout really.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 14/01/2021 09:42

Posted too soon.

Things do seem to be ramping up though. I saw there are 11 new sites opening in Fife yesterday, one in my wee town.

Something over 18,000 have been vaccinated in Dundee which is more than 10%.

Dundee stats are quite impressive compared with everyone else.
IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 14/01/2021 09:51

Bit of info here too.

www.thenational.scot/news/19010469.covid-scotland-will-get-vaccine-vaccine-centre-near/

Bytheloch · 14/01/2021 09:59

Apparently the top secret location of where the vaccines are stored was accidentally revealed in Scottish Parliament yesterday...maybe now with the knowledge they’ll have access to more?Wink

imagines the dentist and the briefing teams dressed in stretchy leisurewear and full on balaclavas, driving a white van over the pretendy illegal border at midnight...

shouldistop · 14/01/2021 10:01

@WouldBeGood I think the email address on it was wrong. They're probably updating

littlbrowndog · 14/01/2021 10:10

Nhs staff who had first vaccine will get the 2nd jab in 12 weeks
