Iirc SG (either Jeanne or Nicola) announced 80% of all care home residents in Scotland as a whole already vaccinated by end of last week. Makes up about 35,000 so relatively small numbers in population context but since residents are in and out of hospital a lot and NHS beds capacity is around 15,000 this alone should make a big difference.
My suspicion is that the logistics of transferring newly vaccinated care home residents in and out of hospital may be contributing to the increasing NHS bed usage.
We were very excited to see the snow but it is very wet and slippy here and melting too fast for a snowman. Home Eccie making pancakes in the kitchen this morning - no breakages and no burnt children so all in all a success (DH already got a pout on cos they are not quite up to my usual standards - he is angling for daily practice with him as chief quality controller).
