@Bytheloch

Cheers to 6pm, T4 is officially open 🥂
Cheers. Let's get this shit done.

Regardless she was saying there's little evidence of surface transmission, and the quarantine length limits access for children who we also have a duty of care to.

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 18:40

🍷

readsalotgirl63 · 20/11/2020 19:07

Sorry not seeing how the quarantine of books is limiting access to children - there is usually a pretty decent selection ?

readsalotgirl63 · 20/11/2020 19:08

It would limit access even more if staff refused to work.

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 19:21

Quarantining books is just ridiculous

Callisto1 · 20/11/2020 19:25

I think the quarantine is a minor issue compared to the fact that in lots of places libraries are sadly closed. I'd be happy with click and collect if it was local.

IwishIwasyoda · 20/11/2020 19:36

library closed here. Have spent a fortune on Books2Door, Lowplex books and Books4people (which I suspect are all the same company) on books for DS .... now at stage of doing informal swapsies with other parents - we post books through his friends letterboxes and await some surprises back

anon444877 · 20/11/2020 19:55

Of course length of quarantine affects availability of books, my local library is great but I wouldn't say the selection has extensive.

I agree that all staff need to feel safe, I wonder about feeling safe vs where the real risk is, mind you we don't have decent data for teacher risk so how would we measure library staff risk...

AgentCooper · 20/11/2020 20:08

So it will continue to drop, will they use it an excuse to say tier 4 is working and keep us there? hmm never thought I'd miss tier 3

@Christmasbiscuit God, I hope not. But you just know if cases rise then it’s all our fault for going to Troon and licking things in non-essential shops and having massive fucking imaginary house parties, and if they fall it’s all Nicola’s doing because she is literally Jesus. Fuck them to fuck.

Callisto1 · 20/11/2020 20:28

You can access some children's books online with your library card. The selection is limited but it's free.

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 20:29

@AgentCooper I reckon you’ve nailed their strategy

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 20:35

Does anyone think we will be freed on the 11th??

dementedpixie · 20/11/2020 20:40

Its 6pm on 11th so realistically the 12th. Then probably back into level 3

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 20:43

I think Christmas would be much “safer” if they opened hospitality properly.

I’m really scared this is going to go on and on

littlbrowndog · 20/11/2020 20:56

No everybody can afford books even charity books as they are so expensive now in the charity shops.

Quarantine books. Total madness

littlbrowndog · 20/11/2020 20:59

🍷🍷🍷🍷to tier 4’s.

Go well into the darkness

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 20/11/2020 21:08

On the library front our ours tell me that they have books stacked all over because there are so few borrowed currently compared to normal and in addition there are few books in transit because we can only borrow a book that is held by the library we collect from.

We seem to have to fight to keep our libraries every year & now they can argue that people aren’t using them much Sad

Second hand books are horribly expensive just now & I have a house full of bookworms.

I’ve had fun looking up the council map to check which of our usual walks are still legal Confused

Feeling bad for everyone who is losing their swimming pools etc for the next few weeks 🥃

RaspberryCoulis · 20/11/2020 21:12

littlbrowndog · 20/11/2020 21:20

That’s cos you are bad raspberry. And the rest of the tier 4’s.

😎

littlbrowndog · 20/11/2020 21:22

You can stay indoors and stare at the walls as you have done Netflix amazon prime.

So it’s the one show on repeat. For bad people

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 21:23

I confess to being Very Bad

WaxOnFeckOff · 20/11/2020 21:43

I've given away stacks of books during lock down. piles of kids books too. If you have a local free/sharing FB page maybe ask? I've been glad to get rid to be honest.

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2020 21:50

A book swap box was organised outside a takeaway cafe here last time

littlbrowndog · 20/11/2020 21:58

Yeah I gave up on libraries as most are shut in Edinburgh. So just swapping books with other mums and I got kindle unlimited for my books
