@LizzieMacQueen

Haven't looked for the Police reference but here's John Swinney
Now, that's an appropriate image for Halloween Halloween Angry

Surely the main issue is that people might have fun? We can't go out enjoying ourselves!!

Pubs shut, restaurants shut, no alcohol, no music, no meeting friends, no having someone round for tea.

The 11th commandment - thou shall not enjoy thyself

anon444877 · 25/10/2020 19:57

I'd been musing about leaving sweets out with a note too but since the guidance is clear to stay at home and enjoy lots of fun and exciting Halloween activities from ParentClub at home seems unlikely to be many out?

Let's hope this madness is over by the spring or the vaccine post Christmas starts to see inroads in these restrictions.

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 19:58

@WaxOnFeckOff no fun must be had!!!

anon444877 · 25/10/2020 19:59

What if you left sweeties out and the poor little ones got interviewed by the fuzz? No only wholesome Halloween crafts and eating sweets etc to online streamed Halloween entertainment is approved!

Goingdooolally · 25/10/2020 20:01

I understand you’re pissed off but are you not fed up of complaining yet? Grin I can’t even read this thread any more it’s so negative!

The way I see it is there’s nowt we can do so either become very depressed and negative or look for the positive and get on with it!

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/10/2020 20:02

What if a child chokes on a boiled sweetie...? or trips on their witches costume and skins their knee? Or if someone gets scared by a set of fake witches fingers? It's clearly not safe.

Oh fuck a dementor.....:o
anon444877 · 25/10/2020 20:09

Saving all my positivity for the positive thread, perhaps stick with that one?

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/10/2020 20:19

Oh fuck a dementor.....grin

GrinGrin that's exactly what I've been calling Sturgeon/Leitch et al!

NotAnActualSheep · 25/10/2020 20:25

I think it's fair enough to complain when the government takes it upon themselves to dictate how people should be celebrating certain events. I thought we were still notionally allowed some freedoms about how we spend our time and what we do within the regulations. Personally, I "don't give a sod" about Halloween and will feel justified about turning all the lights off and sitting in the back with a gin and ignoring any knocks. But I appreciate some people are less grumpy fuckers than me and may have been looking forward to doing something fun outside with their friends walking around the neighbourhood, looking at decorations and eating low quality chocolate. But no, John Swinney says you can only do ScotGov approved halloween this year, inside and on fucking ParentClub. Whoopdeedoo.

Yes, I'm feeling negative, but it's very difficult to muster up any enthusiasm for stuff when the government keeps moving the goalposts, taking away what little you've managed to plan for... and giving us the joys of socially distanced, masked, meetings of 8 if you're lucky for the foreseeable future if we reach the mythical level 0. Doesn't seem easy to look on the bright side and find much that's positive, frankly. And if anyone mentions scrunching through autumn leaves I may take a handful of said sodden, mushy leaves and post them through your letterbox.

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/10/2020 20:29

I see my role as a member of society to call the government to account where I can and ask questions and challenge. Regardless of the flavour or party in power.

Who ever agrees completely with their govt/council etc?

MadameBlobby · 25/10/2020 20:35

My clear advice to John Swinney is to away and bile his head. And take Sturgeon and the demon dentist with him.

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/10/2020 20:36

Is it just me that really didn't like that we start at level 0 still being restrictions? Surely level zero is no restrictions, and we have levels 1-5 as various forms of restriction...

anon444877 · 25/10/2020 20:39

that annoyed the crap out of me too - level 0 is supposed to be complete business as usual, no need to remember Covid rules etc!

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 20:40

Pray tell me, @Goingdooolally what exactly I should be positive about?

*though if it involves being happy to go on walks then don’t, actually

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/10/2020 20:40

Not just you Statistically, that was the first issue I had with the tiers when announced. The fact that zero will be the expected normal - for how long?

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 20:40

It’s also, I think, deliberately obfuscatory

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 20:41

The levels, I mean

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/10/2020 20:43

Now I've checked the dictionary, I agree @WouldBeGood :o

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 20:45

😳 I’m a twat

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/10/2020 20:50

@WouldBeGood

😳 I’m a twat
Not at all, I have some favourite words I like to use, mostly to annoy folk to be fair but I'm happy that every day is a school day. I might use that as it sums it up completely. If I remember I'll give you appropriate credit.
anon444877 · 25/10/2020 21:02

level 0 is still quite not normal - 8 people from 3 households indoors - unless there's an exemption for community groups that's still quite a restriction on what I might call civil society, if I were in a pretentious mood!

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 21:03

😂 credit to my twattish internet acquaintance

WouldBeGood · 25/10/2020 21:03

@anon444877 it seems that nothing will ever be normal again
