Hi everyone

Thought that as the 7th is fast approaching, it would be worth doing a thread to for the day and the build up.

Dd needs a B in anything to get into Uni and ds is getting his Nat5 results. Will be a tense morning.

Dd1 has had her offer for Stirling accepted despite just missing her conditional offer by one grade. So we have gone from tears of sorrow to tears of joy.
Dd2 has seven A's as predicted. Bright but worked her socks off and deserved them.

prettybird · 07/08/2018 09:24

It does seem strange Lidlfix Confused Let's hope it is as simple as them not having input the written element Smile

SimplyPut · 07/08/2018 09:33

Patiently waiting here. Everyone else, including DS, still asleep. I vary between tears and tea, DS had a tough year outside school so praying for good results.

Regarding PE the school themselves will know exactly what grade your DD should have, call and confirm everything was submitted.

SwiftAnchor · 07/08/2018 09:36

Well done everyone so far! Especially those who were waiting to hear about uni places.

Dd got 3As and all but 1 friend got the results needed for their places. The one who didn't is currently on to clearing so fingers crossed. So pleased for them all.

Hope those still waiting hear soon Smile

pmac62 · 07/08/2018 09:54

Really pleased.
DS got 4A and a B in his highers. He has a interview at school to confirm his AH choices which should be no problem!

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2018 09:55

DS1 got 3cs in his 3ahs. DS2 passed NAT 5 maths with a B and got 1 a, 1b and 1c in his highers. Totally chuffed.

weegiemum · 07/08/2018 10:11

Dd1 got in - but not with her exam results!

She got 3 Bs, but needed an A and a B.

At 9am she ws about to phone GSA when she decided to check her UCAS Track - and it said she had an unconditional offer! Turn out (after a bit of to-and-fro-ing) that they changed her offer to unconditional on August 1st so all the last week of stressing was for no reason!

So she's off to Glasgow School of Art! Couldn't be more proud!!

HuckfromScandal · 07/08/2018 10:12

The letter is here
But the child is not
And I am not allowed to open it.
My nerves are shot!!

He is on his way.
He worked his socks off, and I am really hoping for a good set of results.

Groovee · 07/08/2018 10:18

My niece is off to Aberdeen!

Both have gone back to bed. DD's friend thought she had missed out on Dundee but now she's had another offer and she doesn't know what to do.

Ds did fine, just a bit forgotten in all the drama!!

Got A in English, Maths and Geography, B in Physics, Chemistry, Computing, Gaidhlig, and Art. really proud of him too, he's on track for the highers he wants to do.

meikyo · 07/08/2018 11:18

Post finally arrived. ..DD did really well with 8 As at Nat5. She worked hard and it has paid off for her, especially for chemistry which she used to struggle with. Well done to all and hopefully no one is still waiting! !

flopsyandjim · 07/08/2018 11:22

Nothing from BIL yet about DN. so either she hasnt got her results yet, they weren't good, or they haven't gotten round to telling us. Eek

Starryskiesinthesky · 07/08/2018 11:49

Delighted that my son got the 5 A’s he needs to apply for medicine. He worked so hard i’d have been so disappointed for him if he hadn’t!

Groovee · 07/08/2018 12:15

Dd has just found a message on UCAS from the 2nd Aug saying her place had been confirmed as unconditional 🤦🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2018 12:15

Some great results today and some who hoped to do better but seems to have been okay overall. Who do have still waiting? Just taking mine out for a quick bite of lunch.

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2018 12:17

Sooo, main learning here for next year is to keep checking UCAS in the run up to the results day.

Brainwashed · 07/08/2018 12:21

DS missed his conditional offer by one grade so had resigned himself to his back up choice. Then checked ucas tracking and dundee had changed his offer to unconditional last week....so he's off to Dundee Grin
Bit of an emotional rollercoaster today and he didn't quite believe it so phoned admissions to check!

wigglybeezer · 07/08/2018 12:27

Postie's been...
DS1 got an A in his Nat5 Applications of Maths! I may award myself teacher of the year award consisting of a nice bottle of fizz later.
DS2, aka Swotty McSwotface, got three grade7 As in his Advanced Highers, guess I can stop worrying about him managing at uni next year...

wigglybeezer · 07/08/2018 12:33

I forgot about DS2s National 4 Art!

PurpleFrog · 07/08/2018 12:43

Dd1 got in - but not with her exam results!

Yes - she did! You do realise that the Universities got the SQA results last week and that is the reason a number of conditional offers have suddenly been changed to unconditional. Grin

Well done to everyone this year!

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/08/2018 12:51

Dd still isn't speaking to me ConfusedHmm

Cadsuane · 07/08/2018 12:57

Dd1's UCAS page says 3rd of August but she is sure she has checked since then and it didn't show up. I think it is kind of frozen from the student end until 9 am this morning but the unis were able to update behind the scenes iyswim

KarenW · 07/08/2018 13:00

My eldest got into Dundee to study maths, despite missing one grade too, possibly the Advanced Higher maths made up for the dip in Pyhsics! Younger brother got 5 A's and 2 B's at Nat 5, so well chuffed as he has ADHD and HF autism, so concentrating was a real struggle!Grin

ssd · 07/08/2018 13:07

can anyone advise how to ask for an appeal in English higher? ds was sure of an A but got a B, he wants to appeal but not sure how? we're in East Ren

flopsyandjim · 07/08/2018 13:10

Dn hasn't heard yet. No post yet and doesn't seem to have signed up for texts
