Practicals have already started for many, folios are being worked on... here's the 2028 thread to get us through.

I have Dd sitting 3 highers and D's sitting 6 Nat 5's. Oh the stress.

My two not fussed about actually going outside or seeing actual people! I took them for a walk and lunch yesterday - I asked if they could spare the time away from study and strangely enough they both could! Hmm

DS2 will be finished completely on Friday and just AH CS for DS1 to go.

They need to go get jobs. However that may involve actually speaking to people.

dementedma · 08/05/2018 09:48

DS hasn't even started yet. I think English later this week. He is very chilled and probably not in a good way

weegiemum · 08/05/2018 10:56

DS has gone into school to study for physics Nat5 this afternoon. He's pretty laid back - its his best subject. Good luck to everyone sitting it today!

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/05/2018 11:16

Friend's DS already done 4 of his 8 Nat 5s so it's a really late start in your house then demented.

Not sure what DS1 is thinking really, he doesn't need to pass this at all. As far as his CS AH is concerned. He thinks he has done well in his course work thingy so isn't too bothered about the exam, though given that's what he is going to do at Uni it would be good if he gets a good grade for it.

Doesn't seem to be too much angst about for Physics then in general :)

prettybird · 08/05/2018 13:28

Ds says his AH Physics went "ok". If anything, it went too well as he now thinks he might end up with 1 A and 2 Bs - with the A for his Physics Shock So he is concerned that he has done too much Physics revision and not enough Modern Studies revision Confused, which even though it's only a Higher, is the one he really wants an A in.

He's having a wee relax now before doing some final Modern Studies revision.

....and he did appreciate his granola for breakfast Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/05/2018 13:47

DS1 said exam went "fine", when pushed said paper "wasn't too bad".

DS2 is also doing his H Mods tomorrow, it's usually his best subject and the only A he got at Nat5 so he is reasonably hopeful for that one. Fingers crossed and best of luck to all for that.

Groovee · 08/05/2018 13:49

Ds is studying for Modern Studies Nat5. My niece had amber AH musical practicals. She was upbeat when she arrived here. So that was good.

DS's Hayfever is bad though and so is mine 😢

weegiemum · 08/05/2018 15:47

Just heard from ds - physics was tricky but he thinks he's done ok.

Sturmundcalm · 08/05/2018 17:47

DD thought the AH physics was ok - better than AH maths, not as good as H spanish...

WickedGoodDoge · 08/05/2018 19:07

DS thought Nat5 Physics was “fine” today. He thought it was harder than Nat5 Maths but he quite enjoyed Maths- even Christopher and his umbrella and popcorn containers. Grin

weegiemum · 08/05/2018 20:00

lol as both ds and dd1 sat N5 maths we've had endless dinner table conversations about the umbrella!

WickedGoodDoge · 08/05/2018 20:11

Yes, why didn’t Christopher just trying sticking his umbrella into the locker to see if it would fit like any normal person would? Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/05/2018 20:26

Why didn’t Christopher just wear a jacket with a decent hood?

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/05/2018 20:27

I daren't even ask DS2 about the umbrella as I'm certain he just skipped that question...

wigglybeezer · 08/05/2018 20:28

DS2 sat Nat5 Applications of Maths last Thursday, he said he was the only one quite happy and relaxed at the end, but he had me as a very intensive tutor, I'm sure most of the other mature students at college had to make do with the online tutor. Unfortunately he is bottom of the class on his blacksmithing course, you win some you lose some...
DS2 has done AH Geography, and is very glad to never think about it again, wishes he had tried AH computer science instead.
AH English on Friday, AH History next week then we're done!

Groovee · 08/05/2018 20:43

😂😂 DH bought a brush this weekend and wanted to phone Ds to ask if it would fit in the boot 😂

Ds has just told me that on Thursday he wants to bring the blue (recycling) wheelie bin into the house, up two flights of stairs (including the narrow twisting stairs up to the attic floor) so that he can throw out all his notes except for his Modern Studies one Hmm

He is most dischuffed indignant at me that I've said it's Not. Going. To. Happen.

I'm happy to give him plenty of black bin bags for him to take down and empty in to the blue bin. Grin

wigglybeezer · 08/05/2018 20:53

Was that a using Pythagoras to work out an internal diagonal? DS1 and I revised that but I'm not sure if it came up in in Applications. I relearned a lot helping DS1 and am tempted to have a go at a National 5 Maths myself next year, give my middle aged brain a workout to stave off decline.
Talking of clear outs, we could have a revision guide swap shop...

prettybird · 08/05/2018 21:21

Ds has just come downstairs again irate at Trump again

"One more day" he says, "Just one more day"Angry

Trump's crime on this occasion Wink?

Pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Ds is hoping for a US related question in tomorrow's Modern Studies Higher - but worries that the marker might not be as up-to-date with US affairs as he is Confused

Groovee · 08/05/2018 21:23

Dd had some friends round last night for a wee chimnea night. I spied a folder and her pal had burnt her geography notes and work🤦🏻‍♀️. Dd came in at one point and said she felt stressed with the burning as the flames went high.

Modern Studies Nat5 for Ds. I'm working so may just miss him. But I hope he gets on ok.

OP posts:
prettybird · 09/05/2018 08:48

Hope the Modern Studies exams go well for everyone today Flowers

I've just waved ds off to school (tradition because we have Siamese dog-cats who often follow him so I have to check that it doesn't happen) for the very last time! ShockShockShock

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/05/2018 09:04

The end of one chapter and the start of another. I remember being in a thread with you in the week that our boys were starting high school. It's mad that that was nearly 6 years ago. I'm my head DS1 left a couple of weeks ago. The exams are just a formality now. How the exam goes well and hope you aren't too sad. Flowers

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/05/2018 11:46

Modern studies H went okay. Said the paper was fair and a bit better than expected.

prettybird · 09/05/2018 12:04

Good to hear. Ds is not home yet - I presume he went to find his pastoral care teacher after his exam rather than before it, to give her a card and a tin of my fabulous home-made tablet Flowers. He says she was a massive support to him in writing his Personal Statement - which in turn helped him get his Unconditional offers.
