Practicals have already started for many, folios are being worked on... here's the 2028 thread to get us through.

I have Dd sitting 3 highers and D's sitting 6 Nat 5's. Oh the stress.

Ds is away for his Gaidhlig exam - last one!

He's none too impressed about having to go straight back to start S5 tomorrow!!

Toot · 04/06/2018 15:13

Thanks for the advice WaxOnFeckOff, Lidlfix and prettybird Smile

WickedGoodDoge · 04/06/2018 21:32

DS goes back tomorrow for some sort of Enterprise Day and then Wed is Take Your Child to School Day and DH has sorted stuff for that. Then he’s back Thurs/Fri, just to head off for the whole of next week for his Silver DoE qualifying expedition!

Toot · 05/06/2018 08:27

My baby boy starting 6th form today - doesn't time fly!

Groovee · 05/06/2018 12:54

Ds went back yesterday. Was proud of him for speaking up that he had 1 period of English but 8 of Physics. He would normally have to get his sister to do it for him.

DD went back yesterday.
It's a bit shit for both of us as I've been in QEUH since Thursday night with my asthma so she's at home on her own and looking after the house, plus the new school year too.
I had a bit of a hissy fit earlier about going home but the nurses persuaded me to stay, hopefully tomorrow I'll get home.

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/06/2018 20:01

Oh dear brillo I hope you feel better soon. Kudos to your DD for holding everything together.

And well done to your DS groovee I can appreciate what a big deal that is.

Groovee · 06/06/2018 06:03

Get well soon @IHaveBrilloHair hope you are home soon. Go your dd for looking after everything at home.

Thanks @WaxOnFeckOff got a few tears in my eyes when he told me. He's so painfully shy.

Yep groovee I have one too. We broke out the champagne when he got his hair cut all by himself. I still made the appointment right enough! Baby steps...

IHaveBrilloHair · 06/06/2018 14:14

I'm at home, I was discharged earlier, Dd will be in at 4.30 and I'm so excited to see her.

weegiemum · 06/06/2018 18:50

Great news Brillo xx

Ds started s5 yesterday, he has all 5 subjects every day but quite chill about it all - more worried about his athletics as he's running in the Scottish Schools competition next week. And he's being baptised on Sunday, so its all very busy here.

Heres to a great next step for all our dc!

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/06/2018 12:12

Dd was pleased to see me yesterday, after she gave me a lecture about being Ill of course!
She's excited that she gets free periods this yearHmmGrin

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/06/2018 12:22

That's nice brillo

SD2 very pleased with his timetable so far although he will have electives to add in and he also says he might add in another subject...Hmm I think he'll need to wait for his results to se if his subjects need to be changed on the back of that first.

Anyway so far he has 3 days where he finishes at lunchtime (albeit on two of those days lunch isn't until half 1.) and two days where he doesn't start until 11. There is only one day where he has free periods interspersed with actual class time. I suspect "study" periods wont be used for much study.

Sevendown · 07/06/2018 19:31

DS did his nat 5s.

Chemistry was a bit rocky but the other ok.

Glad he’s dropping it for s5.

Groovee · 08/06/2018 06:48

Prom tonight! She's such a stress grad over it.

Ah dd looked stunning. Now if she would just hand in the forms the school keep asking for x

Just found out why ds' prom is so late (he thinks it is the 22nd or 23rd Hmm): it is a consequence of the diversity of his school.

It is currently Ramada, so many of his school mates are currently fasting between sunrise and sunset (which is very late up here! Wink). Eid is on (probably) Thursday - hence the prom being next week Smile

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/06/2018 18:22

It's quite early this year I think. It's usually still on when we've been in Turkey at the beginning of July.

DS got his shoes on Friday which was a faff, just wanted a cheap pair as probably won't get used much but he has narrow ankles, a high instep, wide toes and one foot bigger than the other. Nothing cheap fitted or would even work with an insole/ankle grips so had to fork out for nice leather ones. :(

prettybird · 11/06/2018 20:04

Just noticed that autocorrect altered my "Ramadan" Confused

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/06/2018 20:07

:o we knew what you meant...

Groovee · 17/07/2018 14:38
