My wife says it's too little, too late

Would have put this on Dadsnet, but it seems a bit quiet and I urgently need advice.
Basically, my wife has told me that my attempts to become more understanding regarding her needs and feelings is too little too late.
Dinn't realise how serious problem was until I read a letter of hers from solicitor regarding divorce.
Have attempted to talk with her about this, but she says it's far too late to show concern now, about 3 years too late actually.
I don't want a divorce, but she seems to have come to the end of the line with me and refuses to talk about it, saying I have left it too late.
What do I do now?
Also. I think things have come to a head over past few days and she is removing herself emotionally from our family.

Bloke says his wife is divorcing him because he's lazy, demands sex when she's not in the mood and leaves her at home night after night when he goes out on the lash. Reveals he found out by opening her post.

Lots of people give sensible advice, a few people tell him to back off from MN as his wife gets support here.

He ignores the sensible advice completely and throws hissy fit over being criticised.

Plenty of people defend the poor ickle man and accuse posters of being man hating.

Posters point out that this particular man admitted to being lazy and useless and blamed it on not understanding women and is generally a twat

that's one pov. not sure that those of us that aired our discomfort at the assumptions that were being made based on little information were actually 'arse licking'. however, i can't see my opinion changing anyone else's and vice versa and will go back to hiding this thread.
