Got a new fella in my life, we've been to bed, something's bothering me...

When (ahem), I'm doing things to him and at the moment of big pleasure (if you get my drift) he utters such words as: 'oh gosh, golly gosh, oh flip' and at the high point, I got an: "oh sugar".

I find this a terrible turn off, it's like being in bed with Billy Bunter, what would you do?

Also, I've noticed that he talks about his mother in almost every sentence... should alarm bells be ringing?

Got to dash to work now but will check in later, please offer me some advice, I've been out of the dating game for ages and may be a bit rusty, but is this normal for a grown man?

p.s. regular mn here, just name changed (hope it works, cringe)

Just cutting away the crap, is he any good in bed? I mean, couldn't you just ignore it and take what he's giving for the pleasure of it? Or are you way ahead of him and 'teaching' him? He sounds a bit dorkish but dorks can be surprisingly good fun. No? Lady foof....

Kally - he is rather good in the sack. Technique, inventiveness and manouveres all get a thumbs up - it's just the old 'cripes' and 'sugar' that seems out of place.

I can overlook the Bertie Wooster-isms, in favour of the shagging, oh yes indeed, it's just a bit... odd.

He's a man, he can shag, but he can't grunt or say 'ooohh yeah' or suchlike, he just comes out with the golly gosh role call!

That said, it's his dorky geekishness that first caught my attention and got me talking to him. He's never hidden his nerdishness, he is quite out and proud about it.

You know, writing about it all this morning, I feel a soft spot for it, I think absence is making the heart grow fonder, but when I actually hear it at The Moment - I can't make sense of it.

I am very fond of the old boy... I'm looking forward to seeing him again

Just thinking some more about it - maybe it's me that needs to change?

Why should I want to change this about him?

Everyone here is taking it on board and it's made me take it to heart!

SHall I try it too?

A bit of 'oh gosh!' at the point of no return - maybe I'm missing something here!

I think I need to broaden MY horizons!

I'm going to try it next time....

I went out with someone exactly the same in my twenties called Rob! It was such a turn off. I was so dismayed as he had a fabulous, huge flat in Battersea and imagined my future wafting around in it. .

He also gave me a bright purple love bite. I think he thought that i would somehow find it sexy. He was dumped within a few days after that.

Could you not just say to him, "you know when you say tings like "Cripes" when we're in bed? Well, it really makes me want to giggle, and im not sure i want to giggle in bed...." and see if he says, "shall i stop talking then?" and you can say "if you wouldn't mind, darling.".

Oh, if it were that easy.

Absence or abstinence that makes the heart grow fonder........

Can I just say that my husband used to say "oh dear" at the point of orgasm. He's a sweet man, but who needs sweet in men? I truly believe every woman loves being 'taken' by a confident man more than anything. There's a time and a place for sweetness...the bedroom is not it.

By the way, DH now in the spare bedroom....he turned out to have no interest in sex in the long run....so beware!
