Could you be satisfied in a loving relationship without orgasm through intercourse?

Could you be content & satisfied in a relationship which meets most of your needs, except, to achieve a PIV orgasm?

Other means have had some success but are in no way consistent.

Both mid / late 50s, we've been together for around 8 months.

We are in love, the sex is great, the connection is amazing, but the mutual orgasm is elusive...

Have you ever orgasmed through PIV? Because if not, I think it would be unreasonable to expect it now.

I'm mid-50s, and I don't orgasm as easily or intensely as I used to, and I used to come through PIV almost as easily as other ways. I'm not on HRT, but considering it mostly because of this.

I did a lot for dating a few years ago. Men in their 50s can't always perform well. (Others are great, though.) Life, and sometimes medication, starts to catch up with many of us, male and female.

Even with a man where we're really great together, we don't tend to have a mutual orgasm. But coming at different times works well, too.

I wouldn't want a relationship without great sex (at least at the start.) Orgasms may not be what they once were, but they're still amazing. But always expecting to come together and through PIV seems to be a very huge expectation.

I don’t achieve an orgasm at all and still my partner gives me the best sex ever. We do communicate about the need to get me there but I’m currently 7.5 months pregnant and the last time we did the deed at around this gestation we went into early labour so we are holding off 😂

There's this incredible thing called a clitoris. Stimulate that either while the P is in the V or not and you'll be good.

Have an orgasm through oral.. it’s wayyyyy better

Best sex but no orgasm?

Dragononawagon · Yesterday 00:59

Have name changed for this thread!

I’m late forties, perimenopausal, on HRT (including vaginal oestrogen which I also apply clitorally).

I’ve never come through oral and these days I find it almost impossible to come from clitoral stimulation at all, but I CAN come relatively reliably from PIV for the first time in my life without any other stimulation… and they’re some of the biggest orgasms of my life, too.

So…. anything is normal, I reckon.

Well obviously I’ve never had an orgasm so I can only say it’s the best without I’ve never achieved it with anyone but the way he does me and how big he is etc is enough to satisfy me lol. I would love to experience one but it seems like it’s going to be hard work and might I add it’s quite normal for some women to never reach them or achieve them I am not the only one in the world to be without

I don’t think it’s normal at all

sex without an orgasm just isn’t right

I don't think many women achieve orgasm through penetrative sex.

Not at all true??

The sex isn't great if you are not climaxing. Quite the opposite in fact! My word, what some women put up with! Under no circumstances would I be with someone who couldn't make me climax. What would even be the point of that relationship?

Get him told: if he doesn't work on it, you will have to find someone else for sex. You're not just there for his satisfaction. You are not a living sex doll. Tell him he only gets sex after helping you climax - he'll soon start putting effort in.

How the bloody hell do you reach your mid-50s and still cannot help your partner climax?? Sheer selfishness, that's how. Or too many women not speaking up and being assertive about their sexual needs.

Can't (confused my words in the initial post)

Lesbians also rarely orgasm from toy penetration alone.

Edited

That's because those are toys and not real flesh. Same issue if the guy wears a condom. It just doesn't feel as good.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · Yesterday 01:38

I have never orgasmed from PIV in my life. One man, once, made me cum by using his hands on me. Every other time, it's been from "power tools" (as one of my exes described my sex toy collection) or DIY.

PIV isn't orgasm-inducing for most women. What you are experiencing is standard.

WHAT???!!!!

I've been very lucky in that respect (it all finished years ago, but meh). Glorious orgasms by hand and positively transcendental ones with PIV. Fewer women can climax through PIV alone, and it's purely physical. I don't think anyone's figured out what the difference is - but most people have figured out it doesn't matter!

I never liked oral, though, I didn't get all the cookies.

The major factor is how far the clitorial glans is from the vagina.

If the clit is right next to the vag, it can get rubbed up the right way by the penis shaft during PIV.

If, like mine, it's a long-haul flight between the two, the penis shaft won't ever touch the clit and you'll give yourself cystitis trying to bring the two into contact as the penis shaft will just rub your urethra up the wrong way.

Nah, it's mostly down to variations in female anatomy. Bareback doesn't get me there either and just increases my risk of cystitis.

If you actually look into it several woman can’t achieve it. I’m done anyway it’s like mumsnet is full of vultures on the most silliest of things. I’ve never achieved an orgasm- wow! Now let’s get over it It’s my reality not yours and funnily enough because I am the one having intercourse without orgasm I know that I still enjoy it. Sleep well with this information good night

I don't think that's it. But the question's irrelevant, anyway. It doesn't matter and there hasn't been much research into it.

Three words: Hitachi Magic Wand. It will not be hard work then.

Same here. Never had 'success' with any toy. No doubt the self-fellating one would tell us we don't know our own bodies ... but we do!

Can't, or don't? Maybe most men are crap shags whose partners have learned to deprioritise their own pleasure so much that they don't even expect full sexual enjoyment.

Can’t. Physiologically. The vast majority of nerve endings are in the clitoris, not the vagina. We need to stop telling women to orgasm like men—it’s very damaging.

Ive always O through piv. Mainly when ive been on top. If missionary, try raising your bum on a pillow, see if that works and also lube helps!

Edited

This is not helpful to the majority of women who cannot physiologically orgasm from PIV—I’m on top every time, use lube every time, and have figured out the best angle/leg positions for me, but still cannot orgasm from PIV alone. “Just try harder” is very damaging advice, as if there is something “wrong” with the vast majority of women whose bodies are the very normal way for womens’ bodies to be.

I wouldn’t. I have sometimes tried to put up with lack of decent sex (I’m 60s, partner with difficulties) but it just ends up with my not wanting to be more than friends.

Where did i say “just try harder”? I offered a helpful tip which may help the op???
